That was my concern as well.
Fatal Error
ERR01: Failed to create Directinput device
I found a way to start the game (new version) by launching Steam as an admin and what I noticed:
fps dropped by 10-15 fps and also fps has now become unstable compared to the version before the patch (I have a saved copy of the game before the patch and can compare before and after the patch)
CAPCOM don't touch old games with new updates!!! Or save the previous version (before the patch) of the game in the Steam Betas.
Windows 8.1 here.
That is disappointing. Any idea why it might be hitting this error and getting the lower fps?
I need to make a workaround for this enigma protector. Can someone upload the exe from previous version, I forgot to make a backup.
I thought about that bug yesterday when played for RE.net event... and I'm shocked, that they fixed it after about a 1 year! I thought I will never will be fixed. Now they need to rerelase a Samurai Edge DLC on Steam shop.
PS Interesting how fast will they fix RE ORC and Games for Windows LIVE issue? In RE5 it was fast, but in ORC - 5 years? Never?
Stuck in the 90s. They should take a hint from the way Sony has been handling their PC releases of late.
I still see plenty of recent positive reviews......
