What's the audio format? KOFXIII used WWise and I was able to play the music files without issues but without encoding tools I wouldn't be able to convert audio files. If this is using as simple as ADX I could have a soundtrack within hours as ADX files date back to Dreamcast and those tools area readily available.

Well I found the 250MB file as *.xwb which is what's used for music for Xbox. If anyone has esperience modding those files, it's possible we can change the soundtrack.

Sound quality in general is awful, it wouldn't have killed them to pass it through some basic filters, I swear you can get better sound in neoragex with the original 98 rom.

I have noticed that the arcade release and this one are a little bit similar. I'm trying to find the OST and AST... If succesful, I'll let you know.

The audios are encoded in a GRC audio format... any ideas?

well, using xact from the phone 7.1 sdk doesn't help, it just builds those soundbanks, not open them. So far I managed to open them using this, but I'm going to sleep. http://sourceforge.net/projects/ekszbox-abx/?source=typ_redirect

Looking carefully, AST and OST are stored in the Arcade Release in \data\zdx as kof98bgm.afs. I'll try to open this file and convert them...

wow, really looking forward to this...sound is ok, same as the original release soundtrack, but you can never beat the AST quality...
