Do you have to unlock (omega) rugal or do you already have him at the first time that you play the game?

So if I'm using an Xbox 360 controller, all Ihave to do is hold the Back button while selecting Rugal? For some reason, that doesn't work in Oricha Saga for Wii.

Have you tried pressing an attack button on the character selection screen when Rugal was highlighted while holding the Back/Select button on a controller? It still works for me.
I don't know how to select Omega Rugal using a keyboard.

Sorry for replying to such an old thread.I found from a friend of mine that the select button is actually backspace by default on the keyboard controls of the game.
