Super salty about Omega Rugal

Title. So I finally "beat" Arcade Mode, and I seriously wasn't expecting the final boss to be so hard. Like MK2's Shao Khan and SFA3's M. Bison don't even compare to this nonsense. Only way I could "win" was to lower his health to 1/3 and cheese him with throw spam, which doesn't feel like a real win.

So am I just bad, or is Rugal just super OP?

Well glad to know it's not just me. TBH I'm kinda new at these SNK fighters. Played a little Samurai Shodown and SVC Chaos but that's about it. Absolutely loving the depth of the mechanics so far, but good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ the bosses are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Sad thing is I was playing single mode. Only other character I was vaguely good with is Benimaru/Polnareff. Couldn't really round out a three-man team, so I did single with Ryo for practice.

Having to beat that mofo three times doesn't sound fun

Funfact, the easiest char to beat Omega Rugal with is Rugal.
Because he has so many tools to ♥♥♥♥ himself up, it's awesome.

I know right? In fact, regular Rugal makes ALL of the bosses easy!

Most SNK bosses are hard or even OP. You cant't beat Omega Rugal just as easy as you would beat Daimon for example, but there are a number of ways to beat him. Chars with good LP dp can beat him (EX Ryo, Kyo, Iori, Saisyu, even EX Andy etc). But you have to time it right!!! Special grabs can beat him. Clark, Daimon, Vice, Ralf, EX Yashiro etc. Also with Chris and EX Yashiro you can just loop him C + f A and special grab, repeat and/or combo him with SDM's. Some chars can beat him with Super-Fireball like Rugal (normal Rugal ofc), Takuma, all AoF crew, even Eiji or Mature. Some chars can use normal fireball to make him do mistakes like Geese (both), EX Ryo, Takuma, EX Kyo, Iori, Krauser, EX Terry etc. You can even kill him with Chang by just using b - f charge with his Iron Ball :). Sometimes when using C version of Chang's charge move, Rugal will teleport behind you with his special and get 2-3 counter hits that will do 50-80% damage to him. Just don't do unsafe special moves and get your timings right. Good luck :)

My best team for him short of using an illegal boss myself is the following:

O.Shermie: Only one that can truly and relentlessly space him at full screen

Eiji Kisaragi: His "fireball" is the perfect range and can't be reflected. If you stay at that sweet spot range Rugal only does 1 hit on genocide cutter at worst and whiffs every other time.

Wolfgang Krauser: Can zone a bit since reflected fireballs at full screen aren't a big deal to block, but his dropkick from fullscreen can catch Rugal mid fireball. Worthy of a spam

Even if I just have one of these 3 on my team I like my chances :)

You can actually cheese O.Rugal by spamming Kaiser Wave from full screen. He'll either block and take chip damage or try to genocide cuteer on the spot and eat the attack.

You can do the same thing to Goenitz using EX Geese's Double Reppuken
