Kyo, Terry, Andy, Joe, Ryo, Robert, Yuri, Mai, King, Yashiro, Shermie, Chris, Yamazaki, Mary, Billy and Geese have EX versions that play differently to their normal counterparts
other than SFII and older SNK fighting games this would be good enough for a beginner to play
oh dang, I guessed wrong lol there's quite a bit to this game :0
I will most likely pick this up. The physical combat itself (punches and kicks) is much more appealing to me and I can deal with all those technical stuff along the way. I'm mainly playing this for fun, but good to know this game is beginner friendly.
This is good info, thanks!
awesome! thanks for the additional info, really helpful :)
yea thats the thing with these newer fighting games, they are just so complicated and convoluted for a casual gamer like me. I cant dedicate that much time xD
First, the game has 3 grooves: advance and extra for the life. Ultimate (pro gamers (?)) this groove it allows you stylish of fight. dash, evasion, run, power charge etc..
Second, the gamplay is easy, difficulty es hard. very challenging
I would suggest for this particular title that you pick a groove based on your playing style: Advanced groove is meant for aggresive players (running & rolling manuevers allow you to stay on the attack to fill the super bar!), while extra is far more useful for defensive players (dodges & charging meter allow you to use super moves more often without putting yourself at risk!). Ultimate is only a good option after you get used to the other grooves first since it lets you mix each of the previous two grooves' atributes to suit your playstyle)
Also, when choosing your character, it is a good idea to pick the ones that suit a respective groove. Characters that have plenty of combos and special moves that allow to keep pressure on opponents are best suited for Advanced groove (Kyo, Iory & Terry are a few obvious examples), while on the other hand, defensive characters with powerful normal & special moves yet with few combo options are the ones that will benefit from extra groove (Chang, Lucky & Heidern a few examples of this)
Stick to the basics at first, and you´ll find learning the game is not so difficult after all. Good luck! .)
I personally like the Extra Mode, and my characters of choice are Shingo, Mature and Mai.
