Steam is conflicting with UbiConnect
The problem is related to login the account making the saved account for the ubisoft connect installation to be reset it asking to put password.
This is very annoying as when I press to play the game nothing is asked and everything seems to work fine.
Then when you exit the game is when the problem happened.
So it tries to open the ubi connect but it fails. Then I try to manually open it and it reset my login saved so I need to also use the authenticator.

This is very upsetting and it is only happening with Immortal Fenyx.

I could bypass this problem just letting the ubo connect open. Then I open the game from steam. This time when closed the game no errors happened.
Also tested closing the ubi connect afterwards and no problem occur.

The issue seems to only happen when you open the game from steam without running ubi connect app.

Same here...

I can confirm, it is happening to me too. When you exit it also shows a message that it cannot save in cloud and require to re-authenticate (asking also for the code from authenticator, even if you check the option to remember the device).
It is very annoying.

Any dev here that can help?

I thought so, too. Have been doing that for the last 4 or so times I played this game or AC:Valhalla.

Happened again just now, with UC open before starting the game. Really, REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

That is new, never happened such way with me. The only thing that can happen is when UC do some update and that may reset the saved login asking you to write down everything. But generally for me is hard to tell because I take ages to use the UC. Now a days as playing games from Ubi the UC is maintained open and should have no problem with such issue.

Disable ubi connect overlay then try it. If not, disable steam overlay and xbox overlay which is auto on in windows 10. Too many overlays on the pc can confuse it. I had this issue when screenshotting ubisoft games before.

lol ubisoft still doing that 3rd party thing it was kinda ok in the early 2000s.
so many ubisoft games that are Maybe worth trying, but i have zero time for some janky 3rd party launcher. cya in another 10yrs or not you might be bought out by then.

I agree with you.
They should have put investments on steam, not try to steal people from it. Focusing only to make great game and let steam be the only one. That been said Epic games is the craziest but should also embark for steam.
I mean monopolization will not be so if great business have some part in it.
Also steam could have types of points for games under certain company. Lets say Ubisoft have some share in the steam so the points we have with UC could be also in steam made a exclusive option in the steam that will manage those Ubisoft points only for game made by them off course.
This idea is scalable if you get what I mean.

But I guess they are more worried about to put their game in the first page. More worried about to control costumers. I hate that manipulative way those company show, because that is all I see from them.

Steam is the first and are years ahead any one. My dream is to be only steam! Nothing else.

Hello everyone, thanks for letting us know you have had some trouble launching the game and thank you for providing some solutions in this thread.

If launching the game from Steam does not correctly open the Ubisoft launcher, you can temporarily launch the game from Ubisoft Connect as well, as your game should appear under your 'Games' tab - even though you purchased it from Steam.

To fix this issue we usually recommend clearing out all your temporary launcher cache files as this is known to fix the problem of either launcher not opening correctly when pressing Play. Please see our guides for how to do this on each of the game launchers >>

Steam > https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6AD7-820D-8BE5-E51F
Ubisoft Connect > https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000061966

Another thing to check is that both your Steam, and Ubisoft Connect launcher .exe files are set to run with admin rights, in their Properties > https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/article/000060505
