i like d2 but it requires friends and money to buy the tons of dlc to actually enjoy the game. is this game the same thing?

No, it has free content and just one paid Expansion.
The rest is just 10$ for seasons if you like those.
And the content that adds to the game that comes with the seasons is free for everyone.

The main difference between the two is that you have to put a T in D2 to write the division 2, you can also write %2

It doesnt. Played Division 2 from release more than 1k hours. PVE a bit better than in Div 1 but pvp is totaly dead. Raids are boring too. And almost 0 content adding right now.
You can buy it and run story missions and after delete this *insane* game and back to Destiny)

I personally love The Division 2. (4.000 hours and counting)
And i also hate it, but that's only because it's a complete bug fest.
If you're lucky and don't encouter those crashes etc, then you'll be golden.
For 90% however, it's a constant reminder on how Ubi works.

As an exclusive raid player I have done the Calus raid more than 200 times and the rest over 50 times before I stopped playing Destiny 2, I can tell you that that The Division 2 is the better game for hardcore PvE. Especially the raids and the weekly HVT.

The highest dificulties are real fun and require a lot of teamwork and build diversity. The grind for better gear in The Division 2 is so much more fun than in Destiny 2 and overall the PvE experience is so much more fun.

Cant tell about PvP. I've been in the dark zone in The Division 1 99% of my playtime meanwhile in The Division 2 I havent spent much time there since it's not one big map but 3 smaller and I don't like that you cant use your brain and loadout to outsmart the other players you are just forced to fight like in any arena shooter.

I havent played TD2 in a long time but it's still free content with cosmetic "season pass" every now and then which in my oppinion is better than the forced 70 euro purchase in Destiny 2.

Division 2 just has better customization and builds. Even the item stats i find much better than Destiny 2.
I love the gadgets and the gameplay.
But Destiny 2 has better freedom of movement as well as the exotic weapons which do different things.
Division 2 had amazing Exotic stats on before the expansion.
After it they nerfed them all and some of them are just not fun to use anymore.

It is different, but loosely in the same genre.

Destiny has some amazing visuals and intense fun from the skill sets and "magic" stuff.
Division has some amazing visuals and intense fun from the skill sets and realistic stuff.

Blondes or Brunettes, Pizza or Calzone, Whisky or Rum.

Its way better than Destiny from my POV. If you however prefer Future-Settings / Weapons etc. sure, go for Destiny. I enjoy the current level of technology more, the gunfights and foremost the awesome area you are fighting in.
