The art is very different from most of over fantasy games. But do you just feel weird about the art, or the game makes you feel weird physically, like nauseating? If it does, that's probably due to low field of view, try increasing FOV to 90 or above.[pcgamingwiki.com]
Hey were you guys planning on backporting the Xbox version of Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition to PC? I've been craving for that co-op I saw Ultimate Edition had, Zeno Clash 2 co-op is a bit too laggy and unstable for me to enjoy.
Here is a much more detailed answer from Carlos Bordeu on ACE Team forums.[forums.aceteam.cl]
Hello, thanks for replying!
They way I feel about this game is more to do with the surreal art direction than how I react physically to it.
I think the discomfort is caused by seeing the human body portrayed in a sort of twisted way, with a lot of the creatures having deformed human traits...which is the whole point of what devs were going for?
Still, the gameplay is fun enough that I'll brave it out even though I don't particularly enjoy the aesthetic. I'm happy there are devs that are willing to try different things that might even alianete a few, but will really please a demographic that really enjoys this kind of style.
On the flipside I really adore the art in 'The Deadly Tower', so much so that I'm actually going back and watching a few classic B2 films like Flash Gordon, Clash of The Titans etc to understand the references in the game better.
So props for that!
Yes, the art of Zeno Clash is inspired by Hieronymus Bosch[en.wikipedia.org] and John Blanche[en.wikipedia.org]. Zeno Clash 2 gives some answers about the inhabitants of Zenozoik.
Even though you are not a fan of ZC art style, I am glad you enjoy the gameplay and I hope you will enjoy the story as well. ZC1 story doesn't give many answers, but who doesn't love a good mystery? :)
It's always nice to see, when a game inspires people to look up stuff outside of itself. Have fun watching the movies and finishing the game!
