EDIT:Got bored, saved game and quit.
Someone earlier in the thread gave a very good explanation why trapping you in that situation is a bug. None of the devs confirmed it, but the explanation was so good, that I can believe it. Basically since one of the door is supposed to open and the other one is supposed to close, by taking the right door at the beginning, you set them both in a wrong state. Doors are switched around so the one that's supposed to open when you go near it whilst backtracking closes instead.
I also ran around clicking everything I could after getting trapped and couldn't find anything.

Are you serious. I know this is a troll but the entire thread is littered with spoilers.
1. It is preferable to be cautious in one's choices and actions than to suffer afterwards.
Thus the reference is only to the game itself.
Also, there's and easier way then throwing it out the door. I set the radio down in front of the door and set the cube on top of it. If set right the cube should fall out on its own when you step on the button.
