over all, all abilites can be made good or very good on specific characters and their Synergies.
Some may feel bad, e.g. Spirit Warriors, but even those can deal tons of damage when you let em.
But the most broken ability currently is by far Flame Strike.
This is the new Transfixion.
You need all quests done for it, after that you need nothing else to let the whole screen explode, as soon as something comes near you.
Cheers!
Here's a Flamestrike build by another person (kudos to the author) from Flamestrike thread.
----------------------------------------------
For the actuall build:
Mark of Incineration
Ruby Circlet
Defiant Plate or Blazing Shell
Spellcaster Gloves or Longfinger Gloves
Firewalker Boots or Runner Shoes
Jade Amulet
Ring of Fire + Wooden Ring
Weapon Proficiency - Hellfire I-IV
Proficient Stance - Conflagration I-IV
Dedication - whatever, I would recommend focusing on high movement speed
Flame Strike - Banish Might/Fury asap, when it shows up
I - Deadly
II - Heated Up
III - Flow x2 + Overpowered (+ Deadly OPTIONAL) -> Upgrade Blazing Emberfall
IV - Heated Up
V - Deadly
VI - Flow x2 + Overpowered + Heated Up -> Upgrade Scattered Sparks
VII - Deadly
VIII - Heated Up
IX - Deadly
X - Flow x2 + Overpowered + Heated Up
----------------------------------------------
All quests simply means Flame Strike Mastery I-III, found on Ember Grounds Quest Tab.
Those unlock additional traits and one Upgrade.
III - Flow x2 + Overpowered (+ Deadly OPTIONAL) -> Upgrade Blazing Emberfall
VI - Flow x2 + Overpowered + Heated Up -> Upgrade Scattered Sparks
2x flow with potion i guess? but what do you mean with + overpowered ( + x optional )?
e.g. you lock Flow III, Overpowered III shows up, you pick Overpowered and on next level up you use double potion on Flow
On Tier III Deadly is completly optional and only good for more damage vs the Lord.
So clearing the pool down to the bare minimum with Banish Potions is always the way to go.
With 8 Potions you can clear out 40 lvls worth of traits.
For the final nuke you can banish:
Thick Hide, Parry, Vitality, Metabolism, Channeling, Cunning Technique, Ruthlessness, Strenght, Quick Hands, Bulwark, Frost Affinity, Lightning Affinity, Elemental Surge, Demonic Exchange -> going from 5lvl traits to lower ones. You decide.
The whole damage just comes from Burn.
Sometimes RNG just kicks in.
Glad I could help, I guess^^
Cheers!
I like the idea, but I would rather than it shot in the direction I was looking at instead of random. It's garbage early on or when you aren't swarmed. It tracking is okay, but the tracking isn't very good and sometimes it still launches in a random direction and tries to adjust but can't.
It's never been top damage but I don't dislike it. I put it at the bottom tier but well above Meteor strike.
-Astronomer Orbs: Great overall damage, especially with speedy characters like the Sorceress for example, can stuck up tons of electrify on enemies.
-Arcane Splinters: I like em, but they do feel really lackluster. They're unreliable and have no additional effects other than raw damage.
-Lightning Strike: Very unreliable, but actually surprisingly good at electrifying enemies and really nice single target damage.
-Phantom Needles: Pretty decent ability, and the fact that it always attacks the closest target makes it easier to control. Can do both single and multi target damage when upgraded.
-Golem: It doesn't work the way it should, it's buggy in some ways but actually is surprisingly good and versatile. Magma Fists is a really good upgrade, especially with a burn build.
-Meteor Strike: I don't pick this one too often, it's only real use is to set as many enemies on fire as possible. Most of its damage comes from burning, the meteor itself is a little lame and can't be controlled.
-Dragon Breath: On paper, it's very similiar to Meteor Strike. Doesn't do that much damage on its own but it sets enemies on fire. The good thing here is that you can actually aim with this weapon and the knockback is great. Fully upgraded, you basically turn into the Exterminator and have you own flamethrower.
-Purifying Light: In my opinion one of the best abilities in the game. If you position yourself right, you can take out elites and bosses in a matter of seconds with this. Even if you're surrounded by enemies and the damage gets tiny, you still apply helpful debuffs to all enemies around you when this weapon's upgraded.
-Transfixion: Another great weapon. It deals good single target damage, it can be aimed, and it applies debuffs to enemies. Can be taken with pretty much any build since it can always be useful.
-Ring Blades: I almost forgot these actually exists. It's still a very decent weapon actually, applying debuffs and dealing pretty alright damage.
-Frost Avalanche: Feels fairly underwhelming. It's good at slowing enemies down and applying Frost to enemies, but its damage is very laughable. Trying to get 3mil damage is very difficult, even tho I managed to do it.
-Spirit Warriors: Can't say much about them, I've only used them once so far. But they seemed very helpful if you're going for a build where you have to stand still a lot; they're like bodyguards. Their dash attack is awkward to use, I never hit much with it.
-Flame Strike: Feels very strong. It's like a safety aura that kills everything that gets too close to you. When fully charged up, its damage gets ridiculous. I honestly think it shouldn't be able to charge up this much. Also a great ability for a stationary build.
-Arcane Rift: I like this one a lot. It deals great damage, hits a lot of enemies and has fun upgrades. The downside is that you actually have to touch the rift to activate it, which can become very hard to do in Agony Mode, when there's enemies and projectiles all over the screen. Personally, I'd only use it in Normal Mode, not in Agony.
