Cant play any Penumbra games with Win 10

So, I downloaded the 3 Penumbra games available on Steam for almost no money but I cannot play any of them without them crashing at some point. I tried all the fixed I could find on the internet yet there seem to be none specifical to running the games on win 10. I have set compatibility mode to win 7, vista, 8 with no avail, instaled patches etc and I have no clue as to how to make these games work...

I hope so too, but I'm keeping a Windows 7 installation too just in case. Currently that's where it is installed and I dual boot with Windows 10 as well.

This happened to me as well, just after I left the cabin at the begimming. It turned out to be caused by my BitDefender antti-ransomware feature. I added the penumbra exe file to the exemptions and the game now runs ok. This seems to be happening with several other games recently, such as Darkest Dungeon.
