Anyone else like both games?

I've played both. I've played the hell out of both. And, honestly, I love both. I keep hearing people go on and on about how Rivals of Aether 2 "isn't like the first one" and how "shields and whatnot ruin the game," and I'm gonna be honest: I don't mind that it's a little different. I don't mind the "melee" mechanics. I actually prefer how this game feels over Melee, anyway. Is it perfect? No, but the gameplay overall is very smooth and satisfying. Sometimes, I'll get into a rhythm with my opponent, and it's really satisfying being able to pull off cool combos, learn new techniques and whatnot, and this is something that exists in both games. Plus, I kinda like RoA2 more aesthetically. The characters are more expressionate, and it kinda makes them cooler and more fun to play overall.

Yes, I do think both games have their strengths and weaknesses, but it kinda breaks my heart to just see "oh, it's not like the first, so it's bad" or "these mechanics ruin the game" or "I can't win online" or "no tutorials," and the list goes on. I just wanted to add some positivity to the game. I don't mind that it's different, I actually like some of the new mechanics, I just about never play online, and it doesn't even effect my enjoyment offline. As for no tutorials? Honestly, I actually enjoyed learning the game on my own, learning all the nuances and mechanics, and I have to be honest, none of it is all that hard to figure out, especially if you watch some videos, and even without, I didn't struggle to learn the game.

Like I said, I just want to show a more positive take on the game.

Both are good games but this one needs a whole lot more time to cook. I can see myself enjoying this game in a much much more polished state but as of right now I have yet to fall in love with it like I did the first.

I miss custom colors without needing mods, playtest, and being able to choose who I get on random though
