Etalus dash attack into wavedash?
I'm an Etalus main coming from the first game, and was essentially waiting until he released to sink my teeth into this game because I don't really enjoy any other character as much as him. That being said, he feels remarkably different (much slower, hits less hard, overall worse). I was wondering if anybody knows if you're able to cancel your dash attack with a wave dash at all? I feel like this was a core part of his neutral game and for them to remove it is kind of baffling.

Etalus in 2 compared to 1 feels like someone bashed my knees in with a crowbar for fun

I´m really dissapointed with etalus.
I don´t see why they changed his options that much the wavedashing after dash-attacking was at least for me a main part of his gameplay and being able to do so only after a hit doesn´t help becourse it was part of the mindgames to do it whenever you want.
The fact that he is slower in general may not be so bad if his gliding on ice would still feel as fast as before and his u-air may need adjustments to the throwing angle becourse at least until now I wasn´t able to follw up with anything when using it but that could be a me problem.

i agree, another issue is that he can't Nair nearly as fast and comboing with him feels legitimately bad. I also cant Fair if I fastfall, which was a great aerial to threaten with when coming down from ledge, and also yet another option to approach with when dashing forward.

this character feels so lackluster now and ive been waiting months for him to come out im just disappointed and the game is wayyyy more unappealing now. even if he was just overall slower i wouldnt mind it as long as getting my ice and movement with using ice was the same as 1 or just to match this game.... this feels like they just wanted to gut a etalus and keep everyone else dumb and good.....
Etalus was a well designed character for 1 reason, he was fun for both sides. For the player he was fast, aggressive, heavy, etc. He had plenty of stage control and a variety of tools to punish risky options like panic rolls. And for the playee, he was wide af and the easiest character to combo in the game.

Roa2 honestly ruined literally every advantage he had while still keeping him a combo feast. He's just bad and isn't fun.

There will almost certainly be adjustments to his kit in the future. I'm sure if he's just genuinely terrible they will buff him, and unlike Nintendo, the Rivals team is more willing to make major character balance adjustments post launch if there is a need for it. I'm sure they're getting metric tons of feedback about it as we speak. Probably too much, and I bet 90% of it isn't even constructive.

Let them cook. I want wavedash cancel dash attack back as much as the next person, but we haven't had the bear for more than a few days and everyone is acting like he's completely unplayable.

People thought Forsburn was a bottomtier until tournament players picked him up and showed that he was actually really good, and the same is happening for Loxodont when people are figuring out how to combo downB into tusks which murders people at 50% off of a throw
