also i hate playing against her, i can never win, i'm stuck in unranked because of olympia, i'm slowly getting insane.

I mean she just released, what do you expect? When they next character comes out everyone will switch to that one for a month or two, and so on.

She's never really bothered me since I was a Sylv main in 1 and a Lox guy in 2 so it's all about out-ranging her punchies. And don't forget she drops like a rock offstage so if you can do some minimal edgeguarding she's not getting back. Very little margin for error offstage vs. a lot of other characters.

Olympia has a bit of a history of being a brutal matchup on launch. If you aren't playing a character that can consistently keep her stubby normals out, can't shut down her burst mobility, can't edgeguard or spike her, or can't low altitude juggle her, you're playing someone she counterpicks. It's pretty rough in this one particularly, since of the characters that checked all those boxes at once that were in rivals 1, only one is currently in the game, who entered this patch with some nerfs on top of the mechanic that would limit her the most (as panned as it is) also being made weaker in the cases she's particularly good for. We have new bad matchups for her, but they have more bad matchups than good matchups currently.

You might just need to either wait for her to get nerfed or pray that who's next in line is a character like Sylvanos, Elliana, Absa, Pomme, or Mollo and makes the environment just that bit less free for the purist form of rushing opponents down.

You need to win 4 times to exit placements, so I assume op has not won 4 games in substantial number of games of being abused by Olympia

Honestly having played Olympia from 700 to 900 (and now going back and forth between 800 and 950) I think she struggles with Clairen, Lox, and Fleet. Unless you have good movement, out of shield game, and/or parry game you just keep getting hit in the face when trying to get close enough to hit them.
Lox is hard though if you are bad at short hopping because you get juggled easily even by people who dont know how to juggle.

Once you get matched against people who actually pass skill checks its just ggs though the character is dumb af

I can't for the life of me figure out what to do against her tbh.
"Just edgeguard her" doesn't work as easily as people make it seem because her horizontal recovery is really good. On stage, she just trades with everything and her moves come out so fast. I can't even tell that her attacks are small because she just moves and hits so fast. She can really just swing constantly.

When they say to edgeguard her, they mean to go for a spike. ALL of her downward movement is accelerated thanks to her high gravity stat, so any attack that sends her downward has catastrophic consequences for her.

It's best to preemptively swing by just a bit. When you fight olympia, you want to slow the game down at all moments where she's not in disadvantage, because she'll win basically any high speed engagement right now, but her bane has always been methodical and calculated play.
