Rivals of Aether II

Rivals of Aether II

Tap strong is not as good as smash's tap strong.
Smash been out since n64. The tap strong on this game is perfect.

Rivals 2 was made not long ago. Yet, tap strong on this game feels super clunky.

When are you going to change this?

Maybe it would be helpfull if you could define what exacly feels wrong about it ?
just coming here and saying "xy is bad" is not very helpful.
What exacly do you want to change about it ?

I don't get why tap strong is in the game, honestly. I used it for a while coming from smash but a lot of confirms rely on wasting no frames to input a tapstrong, because you have to run over and instantly do it.

There's also seemingly a bug with tap strong, where if you run and try to do short hop up air, you get up strong instead.

Honestly just don't use it.

I use a logitech controller, but i don't think that is to blame at all. MY GC and ps4 controller is at my mom's house, but i don't think it will make a difference.

When ever i try to input tap-strong in rival, i either miss or do it correctly. In order to perform a tap-strong without issue, i must first input the analog-stick, then i must click on the attack button. In smash tho, i only have to input stick+attack at the exact same time. It's not the same for Rivals 2 and it feels so off.

Sure, i can put it on off, but i don`'t prefer to always use left stick to use strong. Using a separated button to perform a strong attack just doesn't feel like ''super smash bros'' at all to me. It's what i had to do for rivals 1, but i thought it would be different here.

...

There's other issues in this game mostly regarding the block+attack to grab. When you sprint then press block+attack, your character stops running completely just to perform a grab. I hate that. The issue here is, unless i have a GC controller, i don't like using R1 to grab. That's all, but this is off-topic.

That sounds more like the problem is that you are used to smashbros but not to rivals2.
In the end this isn´t smash bros it is a different platformfighter I would suggest to try to get used to it or use a different control setup.
