Those complaining about the 30$ starting price, consider this.
Consider the following when you are complaining about the price here:

1. All future DLC characters will be FREE! The roster most likely double over the course of it's lifetime, so this 30$ game with 10 characters will become a 30$ game with 20 characters, maybe even more than that!

2. Cosmetics will be FREE if you keep on top of events! there's no BS paid battle pass. The creator has said that you can purchase the cosmetics separately if you miss en event, but it'll essentially be free if you just regularly play the game.

3. This game has a good chance of all characters being viable at all times! I can't imagine any one character will stay broken, or unplayable for long periods of time. You won't have a game like Marvel vs Capcom 2 where over half of the roster is unplayable in tournaments, or anything like that.

If the game survives that is. If the beta was any indication, the filtration and refunds are going to be FAST due to the skill gap not being checked by matchmaking

Competitive players are gonna ruin the casual experience and then they are going to refund. Watch.
The only issue I have with the monetization for this game is that for a $30, you are getting a product with less content than its predecessor. I'm not referring to characters, or overall content, because I know those will be coming for free, instead the answer is much more petty. You only have 4 alts and the rest are purchasable, and even though you can get most of the originals back through coins, its still overpriced as all hell. With just the black alts, for example, it is $1.60 per character and $16 for the entire current roster. And thats just a common one you can get with coins, some you have to spend money on, like the halloween skins. 10-15 dollars per alt that was originally free is absurd to me and I don't know why i don't see others talking about it. Again its petty and isn't all that important, but I just don't get why it was a change in the first place.

Lol, I can't believe how wrong this statement is. This argument is entirely based on the assumption that you can't enjoy a game that you're bad at. I'm not good at this game by any stretch of the imagination, but I still enjoy playing even when I'm getting my ass handed to me. People who refund the game simply because they can't handle losing have a major skill issue.

Dont get me wrong I´m also bad and having fun but loosing and getting destroyed by every entcounter the game can give you again and again and again are a bit different.
I know people that are very cool headed and up for fun but at a certain point everyone cracks. I know I need to take a break from the game after ~ 10 matches of being a sandbag other people may simply abadon the game.

Are you able to buy the Halloween costumes with in game currency, even if it's quite pricey? That was what was promised in one of the trailers the lead creator talked about. I assume that applies to EVERY cosmetic in game, right?

All skins can be unlocked through grinding, even if you have to buy them with the "premium" currency
Paying for cosmetics is fine, not like it affects gameplay.
All characters and game modes being free is way worth it.
If they keep updating it for 5 years like they did RoA1, and if they add 4 characters each year, that'll grow the roster to 30. The game will keep improving FOR FREE.
So yeah, cosmetics being paid for is the least they can do to earn a bit of money to keep adding to the game. It has a ton of potential.

right, that's my mistake. You can still get them with in game currency. But you can get them "for cheap" (still $20 for all three) with real money.

With the current level up and reward system you get around $25 worth of aether bucks for doing literally everything, and the more prominent currency, coins, has a shop rotation preventing you from getting what you want when you want. They were obviously going for a "skip the grind" type of market, but I think that could have better been achieved if they only had 1 currency and no shop rotation. It would lose them barely nothing and it would be better for their free to play consumers.

Thanks for the elaborated response, I made an edit to my original question to further clarify my question, so thank you for essentially responding twice.

Yeah, for €23ish it was an easy buy.

I'd rather spend on this and support it than garbage like Speedstorm and technical jank like MVS (even though I have fun with that one).

Very wishful thinking OP

We all know the game doesn't take off and survive.

Guy had to produce SOMETHING after this Kickstarter, I'm assuming this is all you'll see
