Can't use Mayflash and Gamecube Controller

So this isn't a problem with just Rivals of Aether 2. After trying to reset my computer, making sure Mayflash is on PC mode, and updating to the most recent drivers, it simply refuses to work with every game I've tried... except for Rivals of Aether 1.
So... it's not a problem of Mayflash connecting to my PC. I'm just stumped. All the online suggestions I can find are exactly what I've already tried. Should just be plug in and go, but not at all - not for me.
Mayflash worked fine on the Switch and, again, it works just fine for Rivals of Aether 1. It's the only game that seems to pick up the controller.

I'm completely stumped, and curious if anyone has any suggestions.

I have solved the issue, and I might as well just leave this here in case anyone has similar issues to me.
Turns out I just needed to go into big picture mode, change a setting on the controller, change the setting back to what it was, then exit big picture mode.
It is, by definition, about the journey and not the destination.
