And he is right, in 2-3 month people will wonder where the players went because 40 year old manchilds cant accept that noone except meleesweats want to play melee clones
This can very well be true, time will tell. However, i think the reason is more nuanced than that.
Most game that focus on ultra competitiveness without anything else to offer (like rivals2 in its current state) will either become the gold standard in the branch or only appeal to small ultra competitive audiance. The chance for it to become the gold standard will be very tiny. So the odds for its community dying down are close to 100%.
Why is this game living rent free in your head if you don't want to play it? Kinda sus.
Thanks for having a brain in a sea of losers clutching their pearls that their millions of hours in melee doesnt make them cool anymore. I actually think it will be over in less time than that because people like me are just fed the hell up with these developers catering to 0.1% of the players interested these days.
Kinda sad, still here trolling and you don't even play the game. Nothing better to do? IG this really is the best game.
Literally gave up because air dodge isn't a hand holding mechanic in this game. jesus.
You could try some of the following:
- Watch pro VODs to learn how they deal with specific situations
- Review your own VODs and theorize what you could have done instead
- Mix up your aerial drift
- Don't land with an attack
- Land on a platform and wait for an opportunity to get back to stage
- Land to the ledge and play for better positioning
- Save your double jump
- Mix up your fastfall timings
You're supposed to be at a disadvantage if you above your opponent. If getting juggled is that oppressive, you should also try to abuse it and learn from opponents who successfully escape disadvantage.
At the end of the day, in a 1v1 fighting game with no RNG-based mechanics, losing interactions is entirely on you despite whatever mechanics are implemented into the game. There's always something you could be doing better, especially in a game with a life span of 1 month.
Venting in a Steam discussion page might help you express your frustration, it won't help you become a better player. Take a break, delete this post and don't come back, and ask online Rivals communities for help instead of complaining to strangers.
....And what kind of response are you expecting to hear exactly? Someone patting you on the back, and telling you "Hey, it'll be okay pookie, I know it's hard, Rivals II sucks.. but it does get better, I promise"?
They're giving you positive & genuine advice, but you're upset because it's not what you'd like to hear. Not trying to be rude, but this is a really bad attitude, and the problem isn't Rivals II I'm afraid. It's you, or you're just clown farming, which in case you are, congrats, you baited us.
Rivals II's movement tech has been made incredibly easy; genuine baby mode levels of accessibility.. My 12 year old sister, who plays Rivals II, can waveland onto a platform and hold shield to protect herself. She plays Loxodont. If she can, than anyone can.
No, this isn't some complicated technique like you say it is, DI out of disadvantage to reset to neutral, is standard platfighter theory, if you havent figured this out, no amount of extra airdodges will save you
So would that mean you are a Brawl obsessed loser then? Are you trying to keep your roll spam dream alive in Smash 4?
I don't recall this game being called 'MODERN SMASH'. If you don't like the direction of this game, go play Brawlhalla or something that'll be more for you.
Sounds more like you cannot accept that developers can make whatever game they want, and people will play what they prefer and not just what YOU prefer.
Not every game is trying to appeal to every man-child for profit. Some developers, like these, care about quality than appealing to every common denominator like yourself.
*EDIT*
Oh dear god. Looking at his steam history, he hates every game that isn't Pal World which is just a chinese ripoff of Pokemon. ROFL your opinions are invalid now.
its a objectively broken game that doesnt get new players because the current players circlejerk off to spending 1000 hours to learn exploits and glitches and gaslit themselves into thinking that makes the game "deep"
Sounds like you are mad because you don't have 1: skill 2: patience 3: skill 4: friends.
I was not asking you but thanks for your input
"Waaaaaa waaaa waaa I'm bad waaaaaa waaaa I'm bad waaa"<-every reply you've made on this thread
Listen big dog ur just very very very bad. You think ultimate is a better game because it's slower and has way less movement tech making it more enjoyable for sh!ters like yourself. But guess what, if me and you played 10,000 matches of ultimate I can say for certain without even knowing your level you wouldn't win even 1. I have over 10,500 hours in ultimate and main 7-10 high or top teir characters for counter picking my opponent (I could f✓ck on you with Gannon, doc, little Mac and every other bottom 10 character too). So it's not that this game is bad your just bad at this genre of games. You have 92 minutes in this game, I played for 9 hours day 1. That's why you lose. If your upset this game takes skill I've got just the game for you, it's called Uno, a highly luck based game. Don't worry though, you won't be bored because you have to match colors which I'm sure will max out your mental capacity, keeping it nice and engaging. I love over confident people like you because I get to point and laugh at them when they claim something so singularly, impossibly, unimaginablely, neanderthal
coated like understanding how this games mechanics work with less than 2 hours play time. At the end of the day your just not willing to put in the time and work it takes to become the level you want to be at platform fighters. If all your going to do is b!tch and moan about how bad the game is why don't you just do the community a favor and quit.
Also ur first game being brawl explains everything u filthy f√cking casual
