The ground movement is a lot better than air movement in the game, once you schmove around platforms it's hard to go back
And this is why Im done giving new platform fighters a chance with sh!t responses like this. Everyone wonders why these stupid games die so fast is because no one, especially casuals, gives a flying f\/ck about all the technicalities and learning movement techs right out the gate. Smash was good at allowing everyone a chance and if you happened to learn some cool techs on the way it was natural and not forced.
Just gonna emulate Ultimate and consider this genre dead until someone on the Rivals 2 team considers making their game actually better and not just a melee circle jerk. Goes for Multiversus as well if that even survives Q1 2025.
Cant refund it thats why, I knew I should have because all platform fighters are just grifts for melee boomers that cant let go of the past.
Someone needs to actually look at smash ultimate and improve on THAT versus constantly going straight to melee as if its the magnum opus. I been playing smash since brawl and you dont see me complaining for them to add random tripping back. I want air movement that doesnt just trap me in a combo endlessly.
I get ONE chance in a sea of millions of random attacks being spammed nonstop wow such a great tool. And if I happen to miscalculate the dodge? thats it! no coming back from the endless juggling, such good game design. In smash you get more than one chance to escape such cheesy tactics. Each time you get hit your ability to dodge out resets which is how it SHOULD BE.
No one can endlessly juggle you, use your DI, ASDI, WIGGLE options to get out of combos and then jump, after you jump you can use your specials and aerials to fight back. Being above someone =/= being juggled or dieing endlessly. Infinite dodges in the air sounds bad for the game, that would remove any aspect of disadvantage state and would allow people to recover from anywhere on the map.
I can give more advice if you tell me the character you are playing and who is juggling you so much. Kragg tends to be a really annoying person to be above for some characters I play Kragg and I can juggle or get juggled 0-80 sometimes by other Kraggs.
Whats even worse than a melee fan is someone that never even played any modern smash game. Thats what I gather from your statement. Its not bad in the slightest, no one complained about it, it keeps you actually engaged in the fight and not immediately losing just because you cant move anymore. It would delay the more you did it but it still gave you a f\/cking shot rather than losing 50% to a miscalculation.
1000 hours ultimate (elite smash like everyone else on Earth)
1000 hours melee (Idk my rank anymore, dog water I imagine)
1000 hours mvs (master)
600 hours brawlhalla (plat, don't really like this game)
120 hours rivals 2 (incredibly mid at this game)
I've played a few others but they arent worth mentioning.
Removing disadvantage state entirely is not a good thing, the game is balanced around the combos we have, the juggling we have, the advantage vs disadvantage states we have.
You certainly can fight back as I said, but you ignored how and why. That's ok. You are here to complain, not learn.
Airdodge is downright healthy in comparison.
Spot dodge had a buff reverted, it was too strong. It is still very usable, the change is designed to make it MORE useful in specific situations and less in others.
Wow you claim you spent 1 billion hours in platform fighters congrats! doesnt mean sh!t, also bragging about rank as if that means anything to anyone else other than yourself. You wanna be pretentious spouting all kinds of made up stuff like DI, ASDI, WIGGLE, or whatever the hell else is fine by me. You can write a college paper on why those things matter but to the average player it feels like BS and it reads like BS.
Love the way you downplay elite smash too, I wonder why? Wonder which characters you have in elite smash, im betting its the unbalanced ones.
I knew dodging felt like sh!t in general. Platform fighter devs are braindead melee simps ffs.
I'm not bragging about a thing I offered you help. You said I havent played fighting games, hence my write up.
I get it you are here clown award farming.
This game is highly intuitive, you are baby raging because you havent thought critically.
