Orcane And And Ranno Nerfs?
Not to start a hate mob. And this may simply to vent some frustration I have just a tad so forgive me this comes off wrong. These two particular characters have been bothering me lately. Do they bother anyone else? (Maypul is only not here just because I rarely see her)

Orcane: He comes off as incredibly annoying to fight for me. Leaping either over my jabs or one small thing of getting in and just uptilt spam into side tilt bite (I think that bite is his side tilt. Not sure so someone feel free to correct me) His annoying as heck bubbles that can come out of him or his puddle. His GRAB RANGE. I do not at all believe he should have as far a grab range as he does. As I believe his (side special?) in the air or his (up special?) in the air are bothersome. The move where he seems to teleport his body a few feet in front of him. This wouldn't bother me if he didn't do damage as he comes out of it. It doesn't even look like a move that should have damage. Simply put I feel like something needs to happen to make him less annoying of a fight.

Ranno: The frog has way too much priority on his forward air (neutral air?) It seems that nearly every time he uses that it has priority over any other in air move from an enemy. And his little flip back kick. Should not have behind himself hit box. Its a kick that, while yes it goes around him, it looks to have more of a forward facing kick hit box. Not a back one. He is much less bothersome to me but its annoying that he has such priority with that particular move. Similar to Mario and Links neutral airs.

So....anyone else get a tad bothered fighting these guys or is it just me? Curious to see who the community thinks maybe needs to be toned down a tad.

AFAIK basically everyone has different people they hate because of how good EVERYONE is. Though the consensus seems to be that Ranno and like two others are overtuned but not by a lot it seems. IMO it's more certain mechanics are over tuned, such as recovering in general, and holding ASDI down, not even CC, but I do also think CC is overtuned. As for Orcane, we don't really know AFAIK because there's exactly one top level Orcane ATM.

Ranno probably, Orcane probably not. Orcane can be annoying but struggles if you deny puddles
Considering that you don’t seem to fully understand the characters I advise you actually try to play them and pick them up. Knowing how the characters work is the best way to figure out counter play and matchups, because I can assure you it’s there.

Chances are this is a case of a bad matchup, but if you don’t know that and are getting bodied by them, it’s a fair assumption that the character is busted or overly annoying. At the end of the day they balanced this game very well and there is counter play for every character, so you just have to find what you have to do.

As an example I play lox, and when I see bad matchups like maypul show up, I adjust my playstyle accordingly, ditch the overly aggressive “get the clip” mind set, find where my parry button is, and don’t give them opportunities to rush me down.

I do get what you mean. I honestly do think possibly Orcane is possibly a bit of a bad matchup for Kragg. (I main Kragg, Lox is my side, and I'm TRYING to learn/get better with Clairen)

I need to try and get less irritated when fighting them. I do get a tad competitive despite knowing that yea I'll never be the absolute best. I simply enjoy winning which most people do.

Do most, if not all moves stop that little spurt he does that creates the puddle? I relatively have always treated that like a projectile and always get in mind "don't touch that. It'll hurt".

Yep, almost any attack can destroy the waterdrop which makes his gameplan harder for him since he relies a lot on both the waterdrop hit and then bubble detonation when he throws it out. Denying him of the waterdrop entirely lets him do neither. Lox has good huge aerials for this

Shielding it is one of the worse things you can do since that just drops it right on your shield and you get shieldlocked by bubbles.
Also a small quirk is that if you parry one of his bubbles (not waterdrop), Orcane himself will get stunned unlike other projectiles which does not stun when parried. This can be good if you find yourself on a platform and theres a puddle below you.

And even if you're in the bubble blender as a big body the followups Orcane gets arent guaranteed unless they read it, so make sure to try to be unpredictable with SDI even when you're stuck. I play against an Orcane a lot as Lox and he only gets combos from his bubbles if he's either really close or he reads where I'm going
