you have bad internet :P

yeah the online is great. play wired.
Unfortunately this game has some pretty hefty internet requirements on your end. If you don’t at least have a wire you’re probably screwed, but that’s not a 100% guarantee.

I know a few people who said they have 30 or less ping with no Ethernet. They didn’t know the reason but most accused their Vpns of being responsible

i think these posts are really pointless because people only give 1/10 of the information needed (what connection they use in house, what connection they use for their isp, where they are located at, which servers they are connecting to etc etc etc).
also people only understand a small fraction of things that actually affect your experience online. everything up to a low 60ish ping is considered "green" by the game. the reason is that 2 frames of input delay + 2 frames of rollback (the default setting for both) is 4x16,6ms = 66,4ms. so as long as your ping to the server is below that you should have a virtually perfect experience.
BUT ping is only one small part, even if you have a ping in the "green range" you can still have lost packets among other things, which means your connection is not 100% stable and some data is "damaged" from time to time. meaning it is not readable and has to be sent again. this will result in sudden lag spikes because you have to wait another full cycle (normally your ping) before you can get it again.
another important factor is your jitter, aka the variance of your ping. you can have an average ping of 60 (and it will show in the game as 60) but a jitter of 60, which means your ping will jump between 30 and 90 actually. which naturally will also result in a sub par experience.
the above two things (lost packets and jitter) can have many causes: bad wifi on your end. bad "last mile" connection from your house to the nearest dial-in node if your isp, bad routing to the server you are playing on etc etc etc. So blaming the game is not very constructive because it works perfectly fine for people like me, who invested in their in house infrastructure and chose a decent ISP with good infrastructure, too. Chances are very high somewhere on the way between your PC and the server lies the actual issue and is completely out of the developers hands.
finally i need to point out that roll back netcode is resource intensive. thats why games like Mortal Kombat don't have rollback netcode on their switch ports. So it could very well be, that you pc can run the game just fine offline, but once you go online and roll back happens your pc can't keep up.

Couldn't agree less. Connectivity isn't perfect, but compared to literally every other platform fighter on the market, it's night and day.

Im 11 ping with no ethernet, computers have really good wifi chip options you probably just need to select your servers and maybe upgrade your chip, they are not all made equal.

Fought against a 100 ping player earlier and it felt like fighting someone under 30 ping, no difference.
Unless you have such a high ping that you're triggering rollback over and over, it really should be working fine.
