They need to fix camping, defense is op and some stages are massive.
Orcane, zetter, forsburn, elephant all can just refuse to approach only trying to punish your end lag while constantly dealing damage the entire time.

The stages are incredibly small to prevent this issue.

Sounds like a skill issue :UpGun_Gear:

But no seriously, parry exists for a reason

We have 3-4 small stages out of how many? We have some massive stages that are 3-4 times the size of the smaller stages.

Yeah, not used to that as a mechanic. I always forget about it.

Nah dude the stages aren’t the issue. The stages in roa1 were twice as big and the matches were still fast and interesting. The game is campy, but its the fault of the general slowness of the game, not the stages.

this is common problem with platform fighters. they get very campy in the mid skill level. you need to get really good at the game to effectively stop people from camping.

You cant compare 2 different games and the stages, we have shields and grabs and massive stages.

Yes I very much can compare 2 different games. 1 had large stages and still had exciting gameplay, 2 has small stages and boring campy gameplay, clearly the stages aren’t the issue and it’s something else. That something else being the increase of end lag on most moves and the addition of campy move sets

I agree with your thesis but I do not believe you have the right reasoning. The stages are not massive in the slightest

These are the largest maps of any fgc that Ive ever played so I don't agree with you. You cant compare the stages because the gameplay is fundamentally different in 1 vs 2, therefor the stage sizing has different meanings and intentions.

but thats the fault of the different gameplay in the second game, not the stages

Disagree, havent met anyone other then you say they arent too big. You can fit at minimum 4 small stages on some of these large "1v1" stages.

Stages are a part of the gameplay, they help dictate the pace.

we were literally both talking in a discussion thread titled "Why are all the stages so small?" earlier today

also just hosted a little poll in the roa2 discord server asking if the stages were too big or too small. 82% sided with me
