Loxodont Rant
Melee player since 2015. With the hours I have so far, there is no other character as obnoxious. Trying to reach diamond and it is 4:1 Loxodont compared to any other character. Is it any wonder why? This dumb fat piece of ♥♥♥♥ has disjointed hitboxes, a gimmick to power up for EVEN EARLIER early kills from an Fstrong and UPstrong that BOTH cover the duration of a spot dodge/air dodge. Oh btw Im pretty sure he can break your shield in two attacks. BTWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW he has a projectile that he can approach with ALONG side his disjointed moves FAST MOVES and low ending lag so you can't even punish him reliably cause his tilts and other moves are just as fast as the LION, a giant ELEPHANT is JUMPING AROUND throwing a GIANT AXE as fast as a LIONNNN WITH NO WEAPON. Oh btw, most characters can't reliably edgeguard Lox because of the hitbox he has from the giant axe. Whyyyyyyyyyyy make this character so annoying? Dude has everything and then some for low skill players that are getting carried by how insane the character is. I play as fleet or clairen and I make the same reads as these fat mfing elephants and we don't get rewarded AT ALL the same. I could probably lose to a monkey w a controller if you gave him loxodont. You gotta make 10x the plays on any other character because they had to make every character just as fast as one another? I don't get it. Loxodont is a TRASHCAN character and if you main him I hope your family disowned you already. :steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:

literally the whole cast outspeeds him and he dies at 60-70 to alot of characters

zetter special pummel headbutt kills at around 70 unless you are dead center of a large stage, a half charged clairen fsmash kills around that range too, which isnt too hard to hit cause you are constantly in tipper stun

Damn bro I can tell you are not that good just based on this reply. Fully charged fsmash not hard to hit? Zetter fthrow killing at 70? Both are def wrong. You have to have bad DI or dont know how to SDI cause I can live Zetter headbutt even with fire on me up to like 110 on most stages. And a fully charged move of any kind is hard to hit. Her throw kill combos dont confirm until like 120+ and even then most charactes live w good DI. Idk about the speed part on Loxodont, but he is not slow enough.

dawg if you been playing melee since 2015 and you can stomach learning the marth matchup then you just need to eat your wheaties.

Loxodont's aerials might be really fast, but the low airspeed, and endlag on his moves often leave him vulnerable. It's important not to autopilot against him and throw out lazy offense because frankly, he destroys people with lazy offense.

You HAVE to respect his giant hitboxes because you'll lose every time trying to beat out his moves.

One thing, I will say; and some people won't like it, but Loxodont is kind of braindead. He's very, very easy to just pick up and press buttons. That's not to say that he doesn't have a high skill-ceiling, because he does, but he is VERY easy. He's like Kragg and Clarien in that way, being noob killers.

Your feelings are valid in your frustration of feeling like you need to "do more that they do" to get the same result, but trust that when you eventually win neutral, you win hard. Lox has an abysmal disadvantage state by the looks of things, and the most exploitable recovery in the game. Prioritize getting him off stage, and holding center stage hostage as you maintain advantage, limiting Lox's options and forcing him to over-commit to take stage control.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe. It is just a rant after all. :steamsalty:

few tips:
- parry his recovery out of block. when he aims above the ledge you can easily block the first hit and then press B while blocking to parry out of block for the second hit when he comes down. this can be done on reaction and with virtually no risk since you block the first hit. As fleet just do an instant down strong after the parry since he just lost ledge invulnerability because of your parry and you will kill him at 80%. <

- since you said you play fleet you are actually in advantage for the match up. loxodont is big AND floaty, so he is the perfect target when above you. you can easily juggle him with up strongs for early K.O.s . Also use your arrows to gimp him off stage. he has very predictable recovery routes. when he is far to the side he NEEDS to use side special at some point. catch them with a fstrong or down air depending if the are recovering mid or low.

- when lox is spamming lava balls approach with a long lasting multi hit, like fleets fair and nair or clairens nair. if you hit the lava ball, it becomes your projectile.

Another tip.
-Loxodont has the slowest startup of any character, coming out at frame 8 for his jab and neutral air. So if you can, try to get behind him with your aireals.

I also hate Fleet and Clairen more than any other character(also zetterburn). Fleet being a zoner with a damn bow, has huge hitboxes and plenty multihit attacks, somehow has good killpower too. She's also one of the characters that barely has to care about ASDI.
And Clairen walling me out with that huge ass back air, and killing me at 80% with backthrow f smash because i didn't DI fully away from her in 0.1 seconds during the backthrow. :steamsalty:

fleet is actually not a zoner. anyone can "out zone" her with their projectiles. fleet uses ranged attacks to provoke mistakes but arrows will almost never kill from a distance only point blank. you also cannot use arrows to rack up damage like on real zoners. its only good for tech chases or gimps.
I play a very aggressive fleet and funny enough people always start to camp and trying to zone me after they lost the first stock.

you don't deserve power
Mr negative :steamsad:
There was this one Zetterburn that was really peeved the other day, maybe that was you I played against
His attacks are actually not that fast. You get the impression that he is super fast when he's comboing you which in that case all of his aerials have enough hitstun to combo into eachother, but once you got your hands on him with combos, he cant do much since he's such a big body with slow aerials to break out of combos.
Also you can attack his meteorball to send it back, I dont see many people do that and I dread the day they start doing that
