Rocksmith 2014 Remastered will not start on my PC
Just bought Rocksmith 2014 Remastered to use with my newly acquired guitar and it wont start on my Windows 10 PC. I hit start, it looks like its trying to do something for a few seconds ( blue circle cursor), then just stops. Steam button resets to Start. Any ideas, really dissapointed that I cant get to work? This is super frustrating, just spend a £25.00 on the interface cable and aboutr £20.00 on the software itself, yet it wont even start. I have tried applying various compatability settings, like DPI etc, nothing. Any advise before I request a refund?

Ok, my findings so far, Rocksmith loads perfectly fine on my old AMD based laptop. Troubleshooting I have tried with my Intel based desktop all to no avail:

1. Changing 4k resolution to 1080p. Switching off HDR/Scaling
2. Switching off Kaspersky Anti-Virus
3. Switching off Rivatuner.
4. Re-installing Rocksmith

I notice that on the problematic PC, unlike the laptop installation doesnt even get as far as installing the pre-requisites. On that basis I suspected that one of the pre-requisites might be causing the issue and looked to try and install manually one by one, but cant find them in the Rocksmith folder.

The only major difference between my desktop PC and my laptop other than obvious hardware differences is that the laptop is working on the new big Windows 10 May Update and my desktop is not. I wonder if that has made a difference.

The game doesn't work on CPU with more than 32 cores/threads. If that's the case, here some details on how to set up an affinity mask to limit the number of cores Steam uses.

There's the answer, I run an i9 7960x!

Sigh. I really cant be bothered to keep switching off cores every single time I start Steam to play Rocksmith. In addition I was getting the sound lag issue. I am refunding and buying at a higher price on my PS4 Pro but at least I can be guaranteed it will work without any arcane messing around. Disappointed Ubisoft. Not wasting any more time with the PC version of this software.

An affinity mask can be set in the command line (.bat file):
https://www.tenforums.com/performance-maintenance/47607-affinity-command-cmd.html
And sound lag should be unnoticeable when exclusive mode enabled. It's better to remove Rocksmith.ini and let the game to recreate it. I guess you messed it up while solving the issue.

Lag with HDMI audio.same with PS must use optical out Also you can just create a login profile with the hardware setting you need and just log into it when you play.I do this and it just takes seconds to log back forth

I wonder why UBI just can't make a patch to fix this problem so many have.

Agreed, purchased on PS4, much easier, plug cable in, plug in guitar, start software. Done.

I own Rocksmith on Xbox One, PC and Xbox 360. Works on both consoles at least, but would be more handy if PC version worked.

None of these workarounds have worked for me.

I think it's weird that Rocksmith is abandonware on PC even when it got DLC until 2020 or so.
These fixes only works for random people, and UBI refuses to fix it for everyone.

Notice Ubisoft's swift reply to my initial post. I am certain they are rushing to fix the over site that a 2014 game of theirs is not compatible with high core processors and therefore a good proportion of modern PC's. I am certain of this. ;)

Don't be so sure. UBI knew about the Toy Soldiers WC menu problems for years and were looking into it. 5 years later, still no fix.
