Fender Squier bass low volume
From what I've read the bass doesn't have strong enough output for rocksmith resulting in barely able to hear it. This sucks I've messed with the settings trying to make it better but no luck. I guess i'm sol huh?

Have you tried...

Setting the RealTone cable gain in the game menu?

Raising the pickups closer to the strings?

I did mess with the RTC and it didn't do anything. I didn't mess with the pickups. That I don't want to do. :)

The system does says mine is a little low when I play the strings too soft when tuning, otherwise I have no problem.

Do try to move the pickups closer to the strings. Higher on the G side than on the E side. Now do this slowly. Like a turn at a time on the pickup height. Small changes have big effects in magnetic systems. Remember the square of the distance law and you will get the idea.

Yep just don't raise em up so high the strings hit while fretting notes in the upper frets.

I don't think you can have em too close for this game as long as they don't hit.

Even if they hit it won't break anything. It will just cause the note to die, and you can lower 'em back down a bit so it won't hit next time.

Worst case is you back the screw out of the body or bracket, but it should just go right back in.

If you are worried, then take it to a shop, it should not take them long to raise em.

It will make the output stronger.

Thx for the replies. I'll give it a shot! I need a break anyway, my fingers hurt. :steamhappy:

Mine Squier Jazz bass says this all the time too when I am tuning. Sometimes tuning with the "Make Some Noise" calibration thing helps. It rarely ever causes an issue in songs.
In songs I have more problems with my Epiphone Les Paul being too quiet.
Had a setup down on both and much are easier to play and sound better.

I thought of another trick.

Turn your guitar/bass volume to about 1/2 way, like 5, and calibrate, then turn it up to 10 after calibration.

All great suggestions guys.... summary

0. Set your guitar knobs for maximum volume
1. Use the calibration feature in Rocksmith
2. then if necessary turn up the Realtone Cable gain in the tools menu > audio settings
3. if having problems still with low volume output then you need to raise the pickups

I did this and also for the 2nd time turned up the Reatone cable and I do hear the bass volume a bit better. Not the greatest but it is better!
Thx again all for the replies!

When I was using my squire I had to max my bass volume, turn the song way down in the mixer and then max out my computer volume. You can also try adjusting the real tone cable gain, but that did not work for me.
