The new nvidia driver update (555.85) caused a weird problem (for me)
Shader cache is usually cleared when installing a new driver.
Cache files are rebuilt (primarily) during the initial startup in a game’s menus.
Then, some additional outliers are compiled during gameplay. This can result in significant spikes in CPU temperatures.
" It is confirmed that Nvidias newest drivers (555.85) are bugged, since it increases LSFG 2.0 gpu load by 3-4 times. Do not update drivers until a patch is released, if you already updated follow this guide: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-roll-back-nvidia-drivers/ "
He doesn't cite the source. But he posts a couple of screenshots that shows his GPU at 55% load, then 93% at the same spot.
I'm skipping this one.
