Memory leak?
After 2-3 hours i go from 100 FPS average to 30 FPS with the newest Driver Update and 1440p

Specs:
4070ti 12gb
Ryzen 7 7700x
32 GB ddr5 5600

Why Does it Run Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after 2-3 hours?

I haven't had memory issues, but I did have an issue where after an hour or two, I would get these harsh pauses or stutters, which would eventually lead to a crash.

Turns out Malware Bytes really didn't like this game and would scrutinise it heavily, if you have any kind of Anti Malware/Virus that has live protection or something of that sort, turn it off if you're playing this game.

I've since turned it off for other games as well, and they also seem to be doing better, didn't realise how much trouble MB was giving me until now.

I think it has something to do with how much data is being read from the SSD/HDD, and the live protection stuff needs to go through all of that data and eventually chugs, that's what I'm telling myself anyway, I haven't had any problems since turning it off.

The Nixxes special.
I played for like 4 hours in a single sitting, I mean I could've had a performance degration I didn't notice but I didn't encounter such extreme problem.
rtx3060 12gb
ryzen5 5600
1080p at dlss quality
high preset with 16x anisotropic filtering and ultra textures
I play with a dualsense controller connetced wia cable
not ignoring or denying the issue just providing more information
(in even small camps I get such a massive fps drop tho, that's how it was on ps4 hardware too tho iirc)

This is Sony revenge for the Helldivers protest.

Funny all these claims happened AFTER the 2 hour refund mark

(I am being sarcastic but you never know)

This happens to me as well. I've also noticed that my ps5 controller causes fps issues too? When its plugged in or connected via bluetooth my fps tanks to the lower 30's and 20's. Playing with kb&m and my fps is back to normal between 70-90
I remember hearing about weird issues like this with PS controller for some other game too, so might not even be specific to this game. Anyway, with K+M haven't had any performance issues even after several hours of playing.

I'm using PS4 controller and having leaks so if it's a controller issue it's probably any controller.

I don't think it's a memory leak.
All the Nixxes ports for a while now have this Hybrid Memory Management policy where if you run out of VRAM capacity, they will instead allocate memory for assets in RAM and then move between them.
This in term will increase the bandwidth usage on the PCI-E bus between RAM/CPU/GPU.
The PCI-E is fast but not as fast as direct access from VRAM. The heavier the traffic the more "latency" is being added. In turn this extra latency will increase the frame time required for a frame to be rendered and thus dropping your overall Frames Per Second metric.

Having the same issue after 1-2 hours of playing and then need to restart. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Scratch this, didn't click out of my game at all and it still happened. It honestly seems to be with certain sequences. Gonna start saving clips and compare them for similar triggers.

If this were the case, when the issue occurs wouldn't the issue immediately resolve after turning the settings down?

it shouldn't happen with this game. although this one got a director's cut upgrade, textures were not rehauled. god of war, ucharted 4 and horizon zero dawn, all base ps4 games just like this one, do not use or need such a system that reduces average framerate. they can even be played at 4k with 8 gb vram without any issues.

I think some people were/are seeing this in Spider-Man port as well?
I don't know.. the 2 games where I saw it with 8GB VRAM are Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart and Horizon Forbidden West. In both cases lowering texture quality "fixed" the issue.
You can easily monitor the BUS usage in RTSS/Afterburner overlay.

After an hour my game runs at good fpr but i get these weird lag spikes that freeze my game for like 2 seconds every few minutes. really annoying. restarting my pc helps for a few hours then its back.
BlastThyName May 17, 2024 @ 1:29pm
no memory leak here, ram and vram usage stay constant for 2+ hours...

?

We already confirmed in a different thread that it's not a VRAM leak and in another thread that it's not a RAM leak.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
