Why no romance?

Massive missed opportunity to not feature any romance narrative that adds depth to a robotic, emotionless main character with no personality. Particularly the romance could have been implemented similarly to The Witcher 3 but featuring love interests for Jin that have multiple gender expressions not bound to exclusively women. Trans Women, Gay Men & Non Binary characters could all have been a part of the romance narrative.

most people are straight, most people identify with him. It's an RPG where you play as Jin. Not a create your own adventure.

Why do you need the main character to be like yourself to identify with it? You can identify with anything. Nobody ever complained they couldn't identify with Super Mario, Pac-Man, a spaceship or an alien. Are you going to say next that they shouldn't be a samurai because you are not one?

Being called "bigot" by satanists is a mark of being a good person these days.

I agree with people saying this game does not need romance. Besides, samurai were trained and educated to control emotions and do "what is right" as opposed to "what they want". Realistically Jin would have had an arranged marriage with a lady of appropriate status and background.
