Duel Fights on Lethal difficulty need a Tweak !
This is ridicoulus. The shear ammount of unblockables, combos and the timings u can barely learn cause a single hit kills u is outright painfull. Sword Saint Isshin is a joke against this. So u pit in an outright great Difficulty Level and forgot to tweak Duels ?! Nor can i change DIfficulty :steamthumbsdown: :steamsalty:

its typically a skill issue tbh but i think the major problem in duels is the camera being constrained by the invisible wall (why does this even occur.....), kb+m controls make some moves very difficult to aim which is very important because the duels require precision and timing, and some arenas are much smaller than you think

You can change the difficulty under game settings. Lethal to me is pretty easy, once you figure out there move set. The hardest dude was kojiro in that mode, but he is suppose to be a boss if u do meet him, I ain't saying any more than that cause it might spoil too much.

Depends on your armor, unblockables will always kill oneshot from what I've seen but those are so telegraphed that it isnt hard to dodge them at all. Normal hits it takes 2-3 for me to die, you can also instantly start the fight again so learning the timings shouldnt be that difficult. And its even easier if you have the perk that you can revive yourself when you have 3 resolve saved up.

It's kinda stupid though, how you can hit an unarmored enemy like 5 times and they just tank it, but when you take one hit you instantly die.

I agree, They're total BS. You'll die in a couple of hits. It's not challenging, it's more frustrating more than anything. Leading to constant restarts on a small mistake; annoying.

It's frustrating at first for sure due to the 1 hit KOs, but just like any tough boss in Sekiro or any other game, you learn the moves.

This. Also when I feel confident enough to take him down, I use the special attacks (heavenly strike and such).

Pls, u can't even in the slightest compare these fights to Sekiro. Sword Saint Isshin wasn't even that hard. Demon of Hate thou had the same issues as these fights. Wanky Hitboxes, untelegraphed attacks, easy death by 1-2 Hits, the insane combos. These Duels are near impossible to read if u ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just die constantly. And don't tell me u be able to read their combos, cause they have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of them. I beat one Duel so far, but such a Pain in the ass omg. If i want to play amazing Bossfights i go back to Sekiro or Armored Core.

Omg I thought you were nearing the end of duels where they get really difficult but you're complaining this much after only 1 duel? It's clearly a skill issue at this point, if you can barely beat the first duel without ranting this much than you're probably a lost cause.

Lethal is really amazing and I wish a lot more games had a difficulty like this.

But duels are pretty tough on Lethal, bit much to think they even tested them.
Although, if you can just keep a cool head, be patient and only attack when you're supposed to, they can be made rather trivial.

Problem is, lethal makes the rest of the combat in the game so quick and frantic, you don't really expect to have to be patient.

What's real bullcrap though and a clear sign Lethal was barely tested, is having to fight with allies by your side and having to revive them every 5 seconds.
It can turn into a babysitting game really quick.

Actually you can very much change difficulty.
You just have to go back to the main menu for it to take effect I think.

Honestly they're not that hard. Yes they are annoying, atleast some of them. Like fighting a Ronin who doesnt even have any armor but still can take up to 10 hits, while you can die from one hit, thats a bit odd. But it makes more sense when ur fighting an armored Mongol, atleast. And they're not IMPOSSIBLE to read, you can instantly restart the fight every time, its up to you to learn them.

Yes you cant compare these fights to Sekiro because in Sekiro they're actually difficult, you have boss runbacks and bosses that have multiple phases, Isshin literally has 3 healthbars from what I remember.

Well the duels on lethal aren't even difficult just rather frustrating, sure it would be nice if we were at least able to tank 1 attack and not die in one hit but whatever. My issue for example is not even about difficulty levels but the duels are just rather dull and boring to me? I don't know how to express it completly but those duels just aren't ticking my boxes to be amazed by them, enemies just spam unblockable attack after unblockable attack, when I attack and hit them it literally does nothing as they just procced to do their attack and insta kill me because I'm in animation meanwhile to them my attack is like I didn't even hit them.

Yeah, it's called " Lethal " mode for a reason. It requires you to get good- I've just completed the first act, on lethal mode and have been playing lethal mode since I started the game and haven't played anything else.

Lower difficulties probably teach you bad habits. You'll have to break them first, then learn how to approach things differently. Perfect parry + Perfect dodge are imperative, as well as rushing to the skills that allow you to parry spear and sword unblockables.

You will die plenty, but you learn.

You can parry or perfect dodge them all, so just don't get hit and don't get surrounded. There is a skill that lets you come back to life if you die at the cost of resolve-

For most you can switch stances- some stances work better during these duels, though I recommend you use the default. The hold right click for a charged jab is actually something the CPU doesn't seem to parry if you hit them on the tip so it's a safe opener against most of the duel opponents.

Back up, let the opponent come to you-
Hold block for safety, and use your dodge out of it if it's an unblockable. Just lean their patterns, and their openings, and bate them out. They're pretty straight forward, the hardest ones are honestly at the very start but once you got the major melee upgrades, you have all the tools to clock them. Only took me 3 deaths to beat the duel with Ryuzo
