Do the yellow birds piss anyone else off?
Listen. I played this game in its full when it initially came out. and I do NOT remember the yellow birds being nearly as common. Maybe Its because its not my first time around and im not totally enchanted with the experience as much as I was the first time playing.

but HOLY. F*CK. I cannot go FIVE MOTHER F*CKING MINUETS without one of these godamn birds HOUNDING me to go to a COMPLETELY OPPOSITE DIRECTION to where I am trying to go. OR...SHOWING ME WHERE THE F*CK IM ALREADY GOING.

Dont get me wrong. I like the idea, I think its a cool way to encourage exploration, but dude....Bro? I do NOT need to hear this loud ass f*cking bird in my ear every time i decide that I wanna make a left f*cking turn; just to then absolutely PESTER me and follow me to THE ENDS OF THE EARTH when I choose NOT to follow it. Like, can we PLEASE tone down the rarity of the event itself or something, even if its gotta be a mod?

I'm sorry for the rant. its just... these birds have been slowly been pissing me off these past few days ive been playing, and I just want to know I'm not alone.

At 50 hours in I have to say that the most annoying part of this game for me is the golden birds. I have not once followed one to a location. They follow me and I'm so tired of it. I open my map pick one of the ? all over it and the wind guides me. What the ♥♥♥♥ does this pretentious little ball noise do other than assume I can't read the map? I have had to stop playing a few times now and go take a break simply because I was getting irrationally angry at it and all immersion was gone.

The ? on the map doesn't show unless you've cleared the fog. The birds make it possible for you to find the cosmetics, haikus, foxes etc while they're still covered by the fog in the map. But i agree, they can get annoying.

I can't imagine how you people would react to an actual problem, it's just a bird I don't even think it makes a noise
The birds do indeed make noise, a distinctive call that is a very iconic bird call in Japan. I quite like hearing them so while they don't help me much I just leave them be. I do notice a lot of the time they lead me to nowhere, dead ends even sometimes. So I stopped following them. I can find locations just fine riding around with the travelers outfit.

I cant imagine how you've played the game and haven't noticed these birds making noise. They spawn every 5-10 minuets, and never shut up. Its not a matter of it being a "real problem" its just that its super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying to try and get immersed in a game when these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ birds are following and pestering you non-stop.

They always lead somewhere. They just get stuck most of the time, specially in houses. They never lead nowhere.
I finally understand these dumb bird's purpose. After looking it up I found one person mention a bird going no where. The answer for them was that there was a headband hidden up on top of the building it was leading them to.

So they don't just lead to the already marked locations but some that are not and won't ever be marked on the map. It would have been nice if they only were for those locations. Like the foxes only lead you to shrines, not every thing around it.

Would be nice if you could filter out stuff you don't want them to lead you to.
A lot of times, I'm heading towards a quest, see one of them birds, follow them thinking they're gonna lead me to a shrine or a bamboo strike I missed, and they take me to another quest.

I can't imagine having such a bad memory you don't even remember this bird making a noise.

Or being so stupid and devoid of all kind of nuance that you think something needs to be a life threatening issue before it's ok for people to complain.

Also so hypocritical and devoid of any kind of self awareness you don't even realize you're here complaining about a MUCH lesser problem.

At first I thought they were kind of neat, but after the tenth time of one taking me to somewhere pointless (just a bare tiny village) they started to really piss me off.

I love the idea in connection to some other parts of this game like the wind being your guide arrow, but they really needed to put more thought into this.

the wind being your direction arrow is pretty nonsensical as everything is shown on the map 😃

They will often lead you to cosmetics not marked on the map at all. Headbands on arrows at the top of buildings, masks hanging inside houses, etc.

LOL, Thank you. This is the answer I was looking for. I just posted that I had figured this out a little bit ago here.

You're wrong. It makes perfect sense, because I don't want to have to open the map every two seconds.
