How do you guys think this game compares to the first?

I like both. DG2 has more content added in forms of many free maps and lots of weapon options within one weapon.

Only played it a few hours not too long after launch. Really didn't like it, while I loved the first game. I can't recall exactly what it was, but I just didn't find it any fun at all.

Has it changed much since then? I've played the first several times since then, still great.

This game is good. But for me the 1st one is harder.

Defense Grid 2 has better gameplay mechanics and graphics.
Defense Grid 1 has the far far far better story.
