Online function not working?

Does anyone know if there is a fix for not being able to invite friends? I have the button prompt on my level select screen but nothing happens when I press the button. Ubisoft connect overlay shows that I'm online and in an online session. Sometimes my friend can get an invite to go through to me but when I accept it nothing happens. Is there any sort of fix or work-around, or is the game just unplayable with friends?

This happens when the game fails to recognize you are in a online session and you or your friend won't be able to join it because of that. The work-around is to first create a session in public then move back to private. Hope that works.

This fix does not work for us either. The game is recognizing that I am in an online session but most times when I press the button to invite friends nothing happens and even when I can get to the point of inviting someone they either don't get the invite or accept it and nothing happens.

none of the troubleshooting steps work, and me and my friend still cant play. she bought this game SPECIFICALLY to play with me
