Audiosurf and Ubuntu Steam
I have the Ubuntu steam and also the windows steam which wont let me through steam guard. How do I get Audiosurf to work under wine.

You'd need to start it from the Windows Steam under wine, AFAIK Windows Steam apps don't know Steam is running if you try to run them through wine with Steam open. You could always try to run the .exe directly, though I highly doubt it'd work.

That's what you need to solve. If you mean by this not having text on the SG dialog, you can google how to turn off directwrite through the registry. Then it'll work. You may as well start steam with a -no-dwrite switch, but it won't be permanent.

I turned off steam guard just to try running steam and I still have no dice... Oh I have text on my steam! It closes out after entering the user and password and steamguard code... So... It seems Windows Steam just doesn't wanna work.

Still no system specs, still no terminal output. Did you come here for help or just to tell your so-called frustration?

Open a terminal, navigate to where it is installed and enter "wine steam.exe" and wine will probably tell you what is wrong with it.

I haven't beenon steam cause I can't play half the games. TF2 has a serious problem with it's shading so I just gave up. Also: I dont know how to do half that crap above... \: I have this as a back up OS.. But now I have to count on it till I can get a new hard disk.

Doing it is fine, "bragging" about it on a linux forum is not.

Im not bragging, Im stating I no longer need help. Ubuntu would not recognize my controller nor would work with wine enough to let me use windows version of steam.
