This is a very interesting read for people like me who are looking to get a Game pad that works great with Steam/Linux/Windows

He doesn't go into detail about it running on Linux specifically, but rather he talks about what it does and how it works.

Is it really radically different than what you can achive currently with the Steam Controller and Steam Input configuration (Linus uses a DS4, but honestly for that kind of input I feel more comfortable with the SC, IMO)

The radical difference is probably more between using just a stick or just a gyro, in comparison to using both combined...

I expect each person will adapt better to one or another controller with both sticks and gyros, due to varied design, ergonomics, etc

Unless the gyro or the stick is much better quality in one or the other... but I don't suppose that's the case as neither DS4 nor SC were significantly trash-talked for that reason before.

From personal experience I can say that the gyro on the SC is much more responsive while wireless (both using the dongle or BTLE) than that of the DS4 in wireless (it is on par when wired). Deffinitely maybe for the games I play (though I have tested some FPS), I am comfortable using the pads and gyro of the SC
