Report a translation problem
That's a fair take. I have been leaving it off more often than not at this point just because the fact that it doesn't work. But if I can find a fix I'd use it again just because it's more convenient for talking to friends, or doing a quick search for game info. Etc.
I hope valve eventually fixes the issue but I'm not holding my breath since this seems to be an issue for Linux users since the overlay has existed. Perhaps the steam deck will get their fingers out of their mouth.
unfortunately I know least one game where navigating and downloading in-game content like community-customized items is impossible without the overlay enabled
it took me a while to add 2+2 and realize these things were linked, so I though it would be better to let you know...
