Penumbra: Black Plague

Penumbra Requiem
Hey guys, i'm new into the penumbra titles and have heard wonderful things about frictional's "best game" as some might say.

Question is, I also hear so-so things about the expansion or "third game".
Should I knock it out of the park by playing it first so I can treat it as a "demo" before jumping into the real course or will I not benifit from anything if I do not understand the story.

Overture is OK, Black Plague is the sequel that *can* be played without the original (although it certainly doesn't hurt to play Overture) and Requiem is a crap puzzle expansion pack with no bearing to the story.

The other Penumbra titles are third-party games that sort of expand on the story.
yea dont play the puzzle game please it sucks..Overture(the frst one) is worth the play. What i would do and seems no one mentioned it, after black plague download the mod its called Penumbra Necrologue. Its a mod made by another developer that picks up the story directly after black plague and is very well written. FORGET THE LAST GAME.:steamhappy:

Requiem was boring for me. I haven't completed it.

I love the Mods, there are 2 : Penumbra Necrologue and Twillight of the Archaic.

CounterCurrent Games are soon releasing third mod, Penumbra: Prisoner of Fate.

It goes Overture, Black Plague, then Requiem. I would do it in order so you can understand the story.
