Resident Evil 6 stuck on Graphics Settings screen.

I have bought Resident Evil 6 through steam, have followed the standard installation process and the extended installation instructions listed on the steam help page. In both scenarios the game loads and gets passed the 'residentevil.net' screen onto the main menu which says something like 'press any key' if I press any key I get forwarded to the graphics settings. And thats it. I can't start a game or do anything else but toy with the graphics settings. I don't receive an error message or anything.

There is no real solution to this issue and some hint is given that it's related to a memory management issue.

Does any one have any clues? Please refrain from the standard 'update graphics' drivers comments they're up to date. Looking for real fixes.

I have used Capcoms support system but have little faith that they will get back to me before the end of the universe.

You are not having a problem. This is by design.

Configure your graphics, then after you're satisfied with your settings, press A/Start. You'll be taken straight to the tutorial prologue. You need to finish said prologue before being able to access the game in full.

wow. ok you are absolutely right. this is by design. I don't know if it's me being incredibly dim but that's less than intuitive. if any one else has this issue, what you need to do is set the graphic settings you want (by changing things in graphic settings and then pressing 'A') and then press 'A' again without changing any settings which should lead you to a screen to set the brightness.

If you need to exit the game disconnect the controller battery pack, select 'end game session', go back to graphic properties, select no for 'full screen' then close the game window by clicking the 'x' on the window with your mouse.

This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, because I couldn't play without controller. I had to connect it and press this stupid button "A" and it was impossible to do it on keyboard
