Lame Alternate Costumes
There were a lot of bad choices made with RE6, but I still can't believe Capcom exercised such incredibly poor judgement with the alternate costumes. Pirate Leon? Samurai Chris? How are these outfits even remotely suitable for a game like this? It's like they asked a bunch of 6 year olds what they wanted for alternate costumes, instead of coming up with something cool, or original. Helena's alternate is at least related to the RE universe, and Sherry's look is a throwback to her original appearance, but the guys have the worst look. Sad, because I'd like to use different gear in mercs.

The alternate costumes are definitely a bit lackluster. I think I was more surprised that there doesn't seem to be a way to use any of the costumes through the campaign, please correct me if I'm wrong there. Although I was mostly disappointed with a lack of any extra characters that aren't in, or from RE6 in the mercenaries. I figure adding at least one or two characters from an older game would have been a nice throwback. At the very least, they could have included costumes that utilized the apperance of existing characters in different games like maybe Leon with or without his coat from Resident Evil 4.

I completely concur. There was an option to use alternate costumes in campaign mode for RE5. Why take that out? Especially since they heavily encourage repeated playthroughs with the massive perk system. Thank god for mods.

So how did feel about Leon's gangster outfit in 4?I also agree that it was stupid that we couldn't have costumes in campaign. But hey,at least there's RE2 Leon and RE1 Chris in all their PS1 graphic glory.

I didn't play RE4, but I have seen the Gangster outfit. That one was a little silly, too, but it was also something someone might plausibly wear, in a modern setting. At the very least it was stylish, which is much more than I can say for a lame pirate costume, or samurai kimono with a non-functioning sword. Surprised they didn't make Jake a Viking, and put Piers in a toga.

Irony, maybe? If you don't like it, well, don't get them. I'm just saying.

I'm fine with the more outlandish outfits, but most of the just aren't even that great. I like Pirate Leon, but I don't care for any of the other ones to much. Would have thought they would have the ones you would think(RPD Leon, STARS Chris, red dress Ada, etc) as normal unlocks, not as those blocky old polygon style ones(which aren't bad).

If Chris could use the katana form his Samurai costume as a melee weapon with its own mechanics, I'd be happy.

I'm also disappointed that Ada's Alt. costume was not red.

I don't see the problem I like them I think there just something you can unlock if you really care, Why take it seriously? Abit like Re5 and 4, just because YOU don't like them, doesn't mean there 'Silly' or 'Usless' I see no issue with them.

The alternate costumes were always silly, the whole sseries is silly. Why do you think this is something new? Resident 2 lets you play as a giant piece of tofu with a knife.

The only alternate costumes that seemed even remotely interesting, to me at least, are Piers's racing suit, Ada's dress, and Sherry's school uniform. The rest were just...bad. Alternate costumes are hit/miss at best, anyway, though. RE5 had that awful "Clubbin'" dress/hair for Sheva, after all.

I don't mind ridiculous alternate costumes. They can be silly. Just let us use them in the campaign for additional silliness.

Agreed. I'd love to play as race car driver Piers, just for the hell of it.

That's one of the (very few) majorly disappointing things in RE6 I found. I'd LOVE to play the main campaign as Sherry with a sexy schoolgirl outfit.
