enemies in quake 4 are retarded, i didnt enjoyed killing them, worst i ever seen in any shooter.
Quake 4 has better graphics but only on some weapons and humanoid models, enviroment is worse overall. Also Quake 4 is is not optimized and i had some crazy fps drop on some areas still...so it is complete fail by performance.no matter what pc you have
" it feels like they learned from their mistakes with the pacing of Doom 3 and implented the necessary changes in this one" no they dont 2 different developer also 2 different subgenre
there is nothing wrong with doom 3, it just not the game you expected to be
i stopped playing Q4 after like 2 hrs or a bit more the gameplay was very boring and retarded for me, i played lot of fps games but cant remember something similar to this, the fight in this game is just so bad i couldnt stand more to play.
also worst quake game ever made from series
so no Q4 is not more action packed, with slow speed and bad fights
while "Quake 4" is a good game, there's too many "♥♥♥♥ you" moments that will either kill you very quickly, or those few escort missions that will instantly fail if the person you're escorting/protecting gets killed.
actually dude, I find "Quake 4" much harder than "Doom 3". at least if you've been playing "Doom 3" for many years like i've done myself, you can predict where enemies will pop out from or teleport in and get numerous spawn-kills that way.
Quake however I had little connection with. I remember my dad playing when I was a kid and even back then I liked Doom more for some reason. Quake 3 was the hit game at LAN parties with friends though. I only played the German 'censored-to-bits" version of Quake 4 and I didn't like it. Now having the played the real one, its much better.
Quake 4 is good, don't get me wrong. But if I had to decide between the two, Doom 3 it is for me.
Quake 4 howerver has the better multiplayer IMO.
BUT. DOom 3 has the better mods.
Q4 Max 0.82 and GTR were so fun.
These are probably the only 2 games that have consistantly been on my PC since I first got into PC gaming.
