4k resolution

Hi Can anyone tell me if this will run 3840x2160? Saw a 1080 post but dont see anything about higher. Thanks

I've just been playing it at 4k, without any issues.

My quake config was stored at:

L:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Quake 4\q4base\Quake4Config.cfg

(yours may be on a different drive, just use the "open file location" to get to it.

And I adjusted the following parameters

seta r_customHeight "2160"
seta r_customWidth "3840"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_displayRefresh "0"
seta r_mode "-1"


after that - no probs at all.

Hi, im trying to do mine in 2k and i cant get it to do it. I do the same thing as above and when i load the game a box says something like error loading screen resolution settings now loading default settings.

It works. The UI won't tell you that you're running the game at 4k. It will tell you (wrongly) that you're running at 1280x720. You don't have to touch settings through the game UI.

If I wanted to play in 2k, it'd look like this correct? Got my new PC finally so the settings I was going to use for 1080p don't apply anymore. XD

Yeah it seems odd because on the Xbox app for PC you can select 4k resolution for Quake 4 in the settings. However, in Steam I can only select 1080p as the max resolution. Quake 1 and Quake 2 remasters updated on steam so I am confused as to why Quake 4 didn't update on steam when it was updated on the Xbox app.

However, I am hoping Quake 4 will eventually get the same remaster as Quake 1 and 2 in the next year or two.

CustomHeight needs to be 1440 NOT 2560.

This also works on the steam deck by using 1280 width and 800 height.
