2k Resolution

Hi, im trying to get my game to run in 2560x1440 but everytime i try to custom set it in the cfg file it resets when i load the game and the game comes up with a dialogue box saying there was a error and that it is restoring to original resolution settings. When i set the game to max settings on 1080p its like the game starts in the lowest settings and i cant seem to fix it. Need some help pls thank you.

To set your resolution to 2k, add the following to your config:

seta r_customHeight "1440"
seta r_customWidth "2560"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_aspectRatio "1"

If that doesn't work, install Quake4Tweaker: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1009-quake-4-tweaker/
To install the mod drop "Quake4TweakerGUI.exe" and "dinput.dll" into your game directory.
The ReadMe says to delete "dinput.dll" however this reffers to any existing file. DO NOT DELETE THE ONE YOU DROPPED IN THE FOLDER OR THE PATCH WONT WORK. Set "Quake4TweakerGUI.exe" to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP or else it wont start. In here you can change the max FPS to anything you want (I suggest 144), your FOV, the time it takes for corpses to despawn, a custom resolution (if it keeps crashing with the commands I used) and most importantly, the ability to force Ultra settings in case it keeps turning to low. Once you set the things as you like hit save and close the window.
"Quake4TweakerGUI.exe" does not need to be open for the mod to work, it simply changes the settings.
Your game should now be full quality. Happy fragging!

You also have to mark the config as read only after

But the game does not tell you that it is 2k true since the maximum in ultra quality is supposed to be 1920x1080, although it really is

was trying both, but still cant set 1440p, so annoying and have no idea how to set it up

i've installed and run quake twaker, but the resolution settings keep getting lower (set 2k and find 720p ingame), any suggestion?

Don't worry about it. It shows lower resolution only in settings, but real resolution is 2k, you can see it via picture quality.
