Silent transfers
Hey guys so I am new to rpg maker but I am having a ton of fun using it and I am starting to work on some more complex scenes. Right now though I am trying to figure out how to make a player transfer without that annoying walking sound. It's okay for going through doors and such but for the way I'm using it right now I don't want it. I am essentially having the player walk over a crack in the ground and then transferring them to a copy of the map that now has a large hole where the crack was. (I am sure there is probably a faster way to do this change but I would like to discover that another time.) My main issue is that this is causing that sound to happen. I have only found one post anywhere about this issue and the person said to remove the move sound effect but I don't seem to see it. It may be that I've only had ace for a day but I am stumped here. Even more confusing to me is that some of the other transfers I have doing similar things don't make the sound, so why does this one? Please any help is appreciated I am new to this so if you could even tell me where on the page it is that would be great. Thank you.

You can edit the event to not play the SE. You can make a transfer event, save it to a common event, remove the SE in the common event and use the common event every time.

thats pretty easy.
you could just use the quickevent and when it's done, you doubleclick it, click on the sound in the event page and deleate it.
or you create a new event, switch the activation to "player touch" and open page 2 of event options to add "teleport player"
Ill add a screeshot to what you have to remove after doubleclicking the event (but it's german)
anyways, sounds always are a certain colour in the event page.

I hope that is what you were looking for :)
Edit: nvm, person above me was faster xD

And BTW I do that often to reduce by 50% the sound in the sand or the wood and change the sound of the door or sometimes even takes the sound of the wind trough another pitch and volume to simulate tents doors.

(You can see exactly what I mean in my "Custom housing!" project in the workshop; it is in the desert tent sector. This project is for new makers who have good games ideas but find the graphical part boring to deal with. I use only the basic set... I wish I used more events tough!)

Thank you all I can't believe that I didn't see that up there.

don't worry about it, we all are blind sometimes :)

Also it happened at least once upon everyone of us until we realised... "Hey, that's how it looks like when I open my transfer event square... Mmmm lets make MoooooOO0ing doors and pretend they are rusty just for fun!" and "Uh no! This is the toilet door; lets be original... the door actually farts as you enter!" XD

*Still using the cry sound in highest pitch as menu sound selection on one project*

hey, at least those quick-events exist now, I realised they exist only halfways through my new project. I was used to rpg maker xp before, and always had to crate the teleport myself :P

Would be cool to devine own Quick Events.
But having them on a extra Map has to do it for now.

It is something I like about the software, no redirect camera/mouse, map 3 to 8 positions same commands that can be used under those conditions if/when/where/and/if O.o and everything is neat and clean and the interface tidy, the menu is contextual if you wait long enough to read the text dropping to explain what do what and with wich warning. Yes we occasionally can do the same 3 maybe 4 different ways using different parts of it... But it always ends up the same in the event pages or the database.

You know, simple, basic, so we can stay free to glue what we know what to do in it? ^^ I really love RPGMaker, tried others and even editors that goes with games... Bof! (apart for Unreal... but then try to start narrating something or changing the hud)
