Yeah, and other indie devs on here have no problem releasing complete products, and charging prices that are more in-line with what they are.

Yeah, if the final product ever happens. I've long since learned that "PLX SUPPORT MAH ALPHA" can more often than not mean "You might get a complete game in 3-5 years, if ever." Like the money I threw at Project Zomboid god knows how many years ago, still haven't seen a finished product.

No, I wouldn't pay 30, or 40 for this. This is a 14.99-19.99 title, at BEST, and that's if it were complete. It's not. Even were it so, it is not a AAA title, so you really shouldn't think you're worthy of AAA prices.

Even if the final product never happened, I've gotten my money's worth out of this game several times over. I have 139 hours in this alpha, indie game, more than the rest of my library combined. In its current state, it is better than most AAA titles. That is why they can sell it for $23. People that have the game understand that and have no arguments.

Your whole argument logic is that the entire value of a game is based on who publishes/develops it. It's flawed logic and just completely wrong.

1334 hours on just the steam version so far for me. Far more time than on a number of AAA titles I've bought in recent years. I suspect this is one of the rare titles that I'll still be playing 5 to 10 years from now, even if there was never another update released.

It's a great game indeed, alpha or not, indie or not. Worth every penny and more. I'll say that much, and I'm a cheap, penny hoarding old miser, lol.

Back when computer games were "niche" products, "AAA" cost $90+. I'd get 50-60 hours out of it and call it a good deal.

I'm nearly 500hrs in with KSP. At $22.95 (my buy price) it's cost me about $0.05c per hour so far and I've not even really begun.

"professional" or "indie" or "AAA" or even "ZZZ" - wtf eva - is totally, absolutely and blindingly irrelevant.

It's $20 - Not $300.... Buy up or miss out. Who really cares what "category" or "little box" you want to put it in.... Really...

I am really sorry for you to hear that you have lost faith in people.

So do I trust me but I feel it towards them triple AAA games. they mess with my pc ... save their ghosts in folders they should not save, mess with my pc settings and while doing so they disable other programs or even parts of the OS. They send my personlal info back to themselves without even asking.
AND on top of that they expect me to buy a game 7 times (base game + DLC) for 10 hours of of non-replayable SP campaign. (I do not do MP unless it is with my dearest and closests friends)
All of the above in return for 100 freaking euros, for 1 license that I can not even play without my pc being connected to the internet at all times.

Have you even tried the demo?
It is NON-LIMLITED in time.
READ: you can play for ever and ever without ever paying a penny.

Normally I would say you know what ... I will give you this game only to show you how wrong you are.
But I got my lesson a few posts back, so sorry ... ain't going to happen unless I plonk it in someones inventory by surpise.
And that , that will only happen WHEN I feel soneone deserverves it 110%.
AFTER he/she shows me that he/she is a tripple AAA person instead of some B-movie runaway character.

Your loss really really your loss.
Good buy and have fun feeding the trolls some more pennies.

So basically if you ever go into windows selling I'll demand that you give me a 60% discount on the basis that you can't know how to build or sell windows since you're new at this?

Great logic man. The only problem with it is that it doesn't make any sense at all.

I did actually do a video on this subject, though its still sitting on my hard drive. The basic gist of it is that those who complain fall into one of two catagories, those who are ignorant of how funding for big games happens, and those who don't actually care; they wouldn't buy it even if it was very cheap.
The reason this video is still sitting on my hard drive is because i think i can cut it down more to include the essence of the fact, and i'll probs drop it into one of my dev updates as a side note.
I wish people didn't complain, yes there are scams out there, but people don't seem to understand that alpha's generally are not that good. Most alpha's are missing a huge chunk of content, to the point where in a multiplayer fps, you might have a single semi working gun, basic netcode and a dev textured level. At times you will be testing at 2000 ping because the netcode is so unoptimised.
KSP calls itself an alpha, but it plays more like a finished title in constant improvement. Trust me, you wouldn't want to be playing the alpha of a AAA title.

Given what I've read about the game, quoting me your hours spent "playing" it, doesn't really count for a game where you basically have to leave it idling for hours and hours on end with little to no actual input from the player.

That's why we have this shiny lil feature called time warp! Why not try the free demo instead of basing your arguments off incorrect articles or reviews or whatever the hell you've been reading.

What? Your mean you arn't waiting for 300 days for your rocket to reach the next planet?

And you call yourself a gamer...
DoctorEss Aug 31, 2013 @ 7:52am
It's when people are trying to claim they've got 1300+ hours (which is over 50 actual days), I'm saying that number is meaningless, simply due to the idling aspect.

It's like a TF2 idler claiming he's got tons of hours of playtime, when most of it was spent idling for stupid hats.
Fel Aug 31, 2013 @ 8:05am
I know, right, I too am waiting 2h20 for each transfert to Minmus, and just rendez-vous with my stations takes me hours, just because I want to brag about my 100k hours...

Well, we all knew that DoctorEss was just complaining for the sake of complaining, without anything to say that has any weight. If at least he based his argument around buying Towns or other sandbox indies that are sold in the Early Access program, I could relate a bit, because those game are quite empty content wise, and the updates are very few and far between, so it feels more like a scam than participating in a beta.

But the point is that this game does have a free demo to try the game, even if said demo is old, and a lot of new features have been addded since. And when your main point is "Indie should never cost more than X, because they are not AAA", you are bound not to be taken seriously, at least not when talking about a game that we enjoy a lot more than the latest AAA.
Plus, coming and basically insulting the devs of a game we all play and love is hardly going to get you anywhere, sorry.

Your ship dose'nt fly itself you need to do alot of work to get to the mun and its not spent idling. its spent making a ship able to get to the mun and back with fuel to spare
