My rover are just spinning in circels
Finally got a rover on the Mun. But when I try to drive it's just drag to the right (all my rover do that. why??) and spins in circels. Its impossible to steer. It works fine on Kerbal. Anyone got an answer? Using the RovMax M1 wheels. I have balanced the wheels as good as I can.

One of the wheels may have broken during the journey to the Mun or the landing. Look closely at each wheel and make sure they are turning and working. Also, make sure each wheel is powered as well. No power means the wheels can't turn. If the wheel is broken. You'll have to send a Kerbal to repair the wheel. Move the Kerbal nearby, then select the wheel and there should be a new option to repair a broken wheel. I hope you get your rover up and running! :KOh:

There are no fault with any of the wheels. The problem is that all the rovers drag to the right. Get it to drive kind of if I rapidly strike the controllerkeys. I discovered now that if I make the rover in the SH and not the VAB they work fine. But then I cant make the rocket to get it to the moon. It seems it impossible to load something made in the SH in to the VAB.

Try some mods like subassembly loader or something.
You should be able to just move the SPH rover save file to the VAB ship save directory and then be able to open it in game.

I agree. Sometimes it's simpler to build stuff in SPH (usually rovers) but until then mods are the only way to do it. Or maybe manually moving the save file from SPH to VAB but I never tried it.

Driving on the mun is a nightmare. You just have to learn how your rover behaves, not accelerate too much, and counter the slip. Remember, there is a tiny amount of gravity on the mun, and the surface is as slippery as ice. It will lurch oddly.

Make sure you turn off all the reaction wheels' torque in any pods or probe cores or SAS units.

I'll try moving the savefiles. And hopefully it will be easyer to drive on Duna. Thanks for the tips.

Yes this works, I've done it myself several times.

On the topic of driving rovers, it is awfully hard to get them balanced. But when you're on the surface, switch to docking mode rather than staging mode before trying to control it - that should make it at least a little more stable. Trouble with staging mode is that as well as turning the wheels left and right, it will try to tip the whole rover sideways, meaning your wheels aren't always on the ground which can cause some wierd behavior. But in docking mode it will not try to roll the craft, only turn it.

In addition to moving the file to the desired folder you may also want to change the vehicle type so the game wont revert you to the building you originally created the vehicle in. It's easy to do just open the vehicle file with notepad and change "type = SPH" to "type = VAB". I'd save a copy of the file before editing just in case anything should go wrong.
