So, a one way trip to Eeloo is 9800 Delta V, as again I round all the figures upwards to be sure, and then 10800 with the 1000 buffer added.
Not sure on the accuracy, but I hope this is at least a start. It got me to Duna and back after about 7 atempts :)
1: Escape Kerbins orbit. (Get into an orbit around the sun)
2: Open up the map, then set Eeloo as your target.
3: Look at the ascending and descending nodes.
4: Put a maneuver on whichever one of them you wish, then pull out the pro grade until you get a "closest approach".
5: Get an encounter by editing your orbit in the appropiate way to bring the "closest approach" close together.
This should get you an encounter, that's how I do all my interplanetary missions.
Now, however, you have to worry about fuel and Delta V.
I usually take 1440+ of fuel with a nuclear engine (Which you should use for ALL interplanetary missions).
