MechJeb is useful for two things... custom windows (info-gasm). And Smart A.S.S. I am not a big user of the auto-functions, but being able to have your station help with alignment while you are trying to dock with it isn't just useful... it's realistic. Like why wouldn't the on board crew be trying to keep everything in alignment?
Also autopilot always crashes my ships so either my ships are to advanced for MJ or MJ is to advanced for me. And before anyone blames my lovely tug... the USS Big Nancy carries my rovers and sky cranes to other planets and moons (currently to Dres, lovely rock by the way should visit it sometimes) so it is reliable.
i use BoJans quantum struts and fuel lines, mainly for my kethane operation
kethane, as obvious.
the dockingport allignment screen
ion/electric hybrid pack (for large/huge batteries and solar panels)
kerbal alarm clock (no explanation needed)
KWRocketry, the 3.75m tanks help a lot on reducing takeoff lag on large payloads: less seperate parts
mechjeb, mainly for long burns and info panels.
subassembly manager, becouse i usually recycle my lifters
fuel balancer, to make sure my tugs are always full of RCS and fuel, to quickly fill up multitank tankers and to balance out the CoM on planes
and for the 1/2 mod: "mechjebcommabdpods", which integrates mechjeb into my probe cores and cockpits, i'll add the casing anyway so why not include it...
I chuckle at the thought of people using internet, high performance PC's, mobile phones, GPS and all kinds of technology as soon as it's available in RL.
In a high-tech space flight game they have high-tech solutions to high-tech problems and insist on using a horse and cart.
And it's declared like it's a PLUS.... lmao at you guy :)
Can someone giver me guidence on how to install it without breaking everything
I plan on having a look around for mods when it hits full release, like i did for Minecraft.
Remove pre-patch day and add mods one by one. If any fail, wait for mod update. Pretty simple process.
Given that times between updates is measured in months, gonna be a long, long wait :)
Think I'm gonna have to update this machine to Win8 .. just for KSP. :)
But yeah, the Universe Replacer folder just goes straight into your Game Data folder in KSP's folders. (There should already be a Squad folder there.) ..Then, if you find any cool image of Kerbin you want to use, just put the image in Universe Replacer -> Textures -> Planets -> Kerbin ..make sure it's called Kerbin1.png or Kerbin1.jpg .. if there's a bump-map, it's called Kerbin2.png ..and that's it! Try the game. You should see it as one of the loaded items as the progress bar, um, progresses. :)
New starfields go in the Skybox folder, instead of Planets .. there should be six files. I love Rareden's HD Texture Pack for the skybox, found in the texture packs here.[forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com] (I halved it to 50 percent resolution, so it's not so shimmer-y on my (relatively) low res laptop screen.)
a realy nice mod that help you with that. it doesn't do the work for you. it only visualize your position and target position.
