Navball East/West Reversed Mysteriously
Okay so here's the deal: I have spent like 10 hours of game time developing and testing a Remote Controlled Mun Rover. Haven't been cheating and looking it up, and granted I got this game a week ago, so maybe I', being ambitious with my design... so noted :).

I built the rover in the Space Plane building and transferred it to the VAB. Granted this messed up symmetry and everything even when I edit the file... but alas I made a dammed good launch vehicle and attacked it with docking ports.

This is how it looks:

Main engines
Fuselage (for spacing) (on top it has a docking clamp)
Above that is my lander which is basically four engines in a square with those girders to space it
Then my RCS/ION-powered Mun rover is attached to that with a small docking port. I've got MechJeb and a Control Unit on each stage.

When I get to the launching pad, I select one of the upward facing docking ports near to the top to be my center of control. For some reason my navball is rotate 180 degrees east so all my directions are flipped. When I select a different docking port I get a good barring. I've pretty much worked around this, but I'm wondering why does one docking port that is parallel with another, facing the same direction have f-ed up directions?

did you rotated your pod ? happend to me yesterday ... i was realy confused

The answer is simple. The pod is flipped the wrong way around. Rotate it and it should work just fine.

Thanks, but the pod isn't the center of control, the docking clamp is. And if it were the angle of the pod, then why does it work if I select a different docking port on the same plane pointing in the same direction?

Doesn't matter though, I worked around it. Thanks!

It has to do with the rotation of whatever part you're "controling" from. Any part that is flipped around will do that to you if you are "controlling" from it. To be sure, pick up the part in the VAB and hit spacebar, that will return it to the original and "correct" rotation. But this should be fixed eventually, though I am not sure how. Right now, for instance, you can have your rocket engines on top of the pod if you want, and you'll have to control your ship from an upside-down part to fire the right way. Some kind of navball alignment feature is in order.

Thank for the spacebar tip! Really helps with cutting out tons of trial and error.
