Kerbal Space Program

Uh....where is the electric charge going?
Ok so first time deploying a probe and like three times I've run out of electric charge by the time I've escaped Kerbal. Last time I made sure to keep a eye on the electric charge and I noted that, even everything is turned off, SAS, torque in the probe, etc and there is 0.03 being used per unit of time (not sure what unit that is. I assume seconds). So where the ♥♥♥♥ is this going? I also noticed that when I time warp that number goes up. Idk if it's just showing for the increase of elapsed time or what, but I always run out despite having like 2 dozen batteries on the damned thing. Help please!!!

Probe cores, themselves, use power. The only way to prevent a powerloss is solar panels or RTGs.

Well grundels. I haven't unlocked solar panals yet.

Aye, probe cores use up a lot of electricity by themselves. If you find yourself running out, try sending a manned mission instead. The manned cockpits only use electricity for their reaction wheels, as far as I remember.

Then you need to wait until you unlock solar panels, before using probe cores. :)

I've gotten into the habit of right clicking on one battery and turning it off, to be used in an emergency. you can also switch off the control module, then turn it back on when you want to do something.

Until you unlock solar panels just place a girder on top of the probe with like over 9000 batteries on it. Seriously, it works. and doesnt take up too much mass either
