Need a early carrer mun landing and return capible rocket.
Title says it, would perfer manned rocket, but unmmaned is fine, i just need to get some good science, and i cant find any decently science on kerbin anymore, and can figure out how to build a decent mun landing and return rocket. I cant even seem to make it to the moon.
So far i have researched:
Advanced Rocketry
General Construction
Flight Control
Science tech
(And anything before these techs)
and electrics

Need a picture/easy to understand picture, or a download would be nice

YOUTUBE has lots of CAREER mode videos, type "KERBAL" & "CAREER" into it's search and you will find alot of vid's on the early game.

Most have a building intro that let's you see the tech tree and the creations being built.
Watch a few and pick a ship you think you can duplicate & fly.

Videos are not an option for me.
And even if they were, i still wouldnt have the time to go through a bunch of videos to find a design that i can use that will work.
All i want is a picture and/or a download of a design that fits my specifications.

So you're asking us to build your rocket for you...

If you ask me (and I'm sure others would agree), it'd be much more helpful to yourself if you built your very >own< rocket based on tutorials on youtube, which I assume vaprak had, well, assumed.

Mostly, I am only looking for designs people have made, that they can show me basicly what i would need to make to get a rocket to do what i want.
And for the second time. VIDEOS ARE NOT AN OPTION FOR ME
And also, I have spent nearly weeks testing all kinds of rockets, trying all sorts of designs, and nothing has worked so far.

From top to bottom:

Mk16 chute
Mk 1 command pod
TR 18A stack decoupler
FL-T400 fuel tank
LV-909 engine
Four landing struts
(Ladder if/when you actually have it)
Decoupler
FL-T800 tank
FL-T400 tank
LV-T45 engine
decoupler
TVR 1180C tricoupler
Three FL-T800
Three FL-T400
Three LV-T30 engine
Three AV-R8 winglets on the bottom

Add three struts to tie the triple tanks together at the bottom. Add struts from the bottom of stage 2 over the decoupler to the top of the tricoupler. Add struts to tie the bottom of stage 3 (the lander) over the decoupler to the top of stage 2.

That's a very basic and fairly efficient Mun rocket for career mode that I gleefully copied from a Scott Manley tutorial. If you're truly out of science (been to all the biomes on Kerbin [launch pad, KSC, grassland, icecap, tundra, mountain, highland, badland, deser, ocean, shores, skies above all that, and in orbit] and repeated the experiments and observations with goo, EVA reports, crew reports, Science Jr. and soil sampling until science returns have diminished almost entirely to zero) then you really oughta have all the tech necessary for that. Note that you still need to know a thing or two about getting the thing into orbit with efficient fuel usage as well as plotting course to Mun, landing, and then back. THAT TAKES PRACTICE. Or having mechjeb do it for you.

This lander has no Science Jr. which IS do-able but very top-heavy and fuel is then a real problem (was for me). From that basic rocket you should be able to add a bit more fuel or boosters and get a bigger/better lander to the Mun with a Science Jr. If staying upright on landing is proving difficult then stick on modular girder segments and hang the landing legs from that. Or common advice is to go to Minmus first rather than the Mun because the lower gravity makes getting a lander down in one piece eaiser.

I know this thread has been dead for a very long time, however I thank you for this rocket, as it brought me (slightly modified) into a mun orbit and today I'll try landing it on the mun. Thank you very much.

:) People go all gushy about SSTO's and sandbox monstrosities for grand tours and rovers that look like ferraris - but what people new to the game REALLY need is a bit of help and instruction on design. They need rockets that will accomplish things and solve problems while they have MINIMAL tech choices.

This was my first successful lander which also made it back home.

no ladders, no lights, no legs, no large tanks, no fuel systems
I was bored at the time rescuing stranded Kerbals for no science reward.
Just to see if it could be done

When you dont have legs, wings are lighter than trusses and make better legs

Your early career mun landing and return capable vehicle you posted in 2013 already helped me getinng Jeb to Mun. Slightly modified (SAS, heat shield) of course.

I don't have any 2.5m engines yet, only rockomax fuel tanks.

I'll give your lander a try.

I recomend waiting untill you have fuel lines, it makes things so much easier (and lighter)

pic on the left
thats my second lander using all the science my first one acquired, much lighter and within your tech scope.
