Any way to stop the game from changing symmetry mode on it's own?
I want to place something down with just 2 copies, but since I have to cursor over other parts to get to that area of the craft, it takes it upon itself to change the symmetry number and it's driving me crazy.

I want TWO not FOUR. Is there a way I can force the game to stop overriding me??

There needs to be a way to lock or something.. I shouldn't have to battle with the interface for such a simple thing.

The only way i could find is to use the keyboard, when you are not moving your mouse anymore.
X should be default to change symmetry mode.
But you still have to watch out for that, i end up putting too many / few things on a ship all the time, because symmetry mode changes for no good reason.
Wish they would fix that anytime soon too.

yeah I know about this.
I've given up and just go back to single placement of the new main part and then it re-roots any part you add to it from then on.

I made this post 10 years ago, they can't even fix KSP2 from what I hear so no hope for KSP1.

Nothing to fix/working as intended... If you've placed something in radial symmetry, anything you place on that part will also be placed in radial symmetry.

To avoid that, place them on the fuselage in mirror mode instead, and slide them to where you want them (hold the shift key to move them beyond the normal range).

It still bad design, why are you commenting on something 10 years old anyway?
